Yeah sounds like he hasn’t missed a beat at all which is brilliant, I think it’s understated how much he’s going to bring once he’s up to speed here.
I’m surprised at our lack of use of him in the ruck though, supposedly at training on Monday even with no English it was Darcy vs Sweet all day. From the sounds of things he’s barely spent one drill with the ruckmen.
I can’t wait for English to run to the bench round 1, Lobb doesn’t move from FF and Hannan starts running to the center square… this place will explode
He’s having back soreness. It was mentioned briefly in an AFL.com.au article a couple of days ago.Been pretty quiet about Charlie Clarke lately
He’s either a flog, or not overly bright. Actually, it could well be both.Sorry but I refuse to buy into the whole Dunkley is a flog thing. Guy bled for the club, won a flag and a b&f.
Move on folks! Football is a professional sport and these things happen. The more you keep going on about it and picking up on every socials commemt the more you seem like you're having a big sook.
I have heard we don't do a lot of running before. From memory Bruce mentioned it when he came across.
I'd be surprised if we've promised that though. Lobb is an average forward and an average ruck, which is what makes him such a good forward/ruck (the fact he's at least competent at both). Recruit him for either position exclusively and you're badly overpaying for an average playerThat could have been the sell to Lobb as he hates the ruck.
Not to mention the other swipe about us not doing much running at the Dogs. What an absolute flog. I notice Treloar 'liked' the video on Brisbane's Instagram page aswell. No doubt he wished he got dealt to Brisbane too.

Yeah fair, I know he hopefully won’t be spending significant time there but if he is our designated 2nd ruck I’d like him to at least develop a bit of chemistry with our mids over the preseasonIn one of the match sims Lobb spent the second half in the ruck. Other than that though I think it'll be the bare minimum which is all you'd expect for real games.
Definitely sounds like there’s been a huge emphasis on skill work under fatigue this preseason - although we haven’t had training reports in 5 years so I’m not sure how that compares to normalMeh...The running thing is so dumb, that its right up there with the squishy floors thing when it comes to ex-players trying to ingratiate themselves with a new team or supporter group.
Go to any of the training sessions and you will see the squad in constant motion during the match sim and the many and varied drills.
The drills have the entire squad break up into groups of 10 or so. Are short and sharp and at each end of the ground. At the end each drill the players are required to sprint and then quickly set up for a variation of the same at the other end of the ground.
There is no shortage of running during these sessions. There's plenty, its just not the mind numbingly boring going around in circles that perfectly matches Dunkleys off field persona.
That's how it looked to me.Definitely sounds like there’s been a huge emphasis on skill work under fatigue this preseason - although we haven’t had training reports in 5 years so I’m not sure how that compares to normal
100%That's how it looked to me.
Perhaps this style of training post dates Dunkleys time. Who knows?
One thing is certain, the switch to Skinner reserve and open training sessions makes the last 5 years of virtual blackouts look even more ridiculous.
Building a sense of excitement amongst a fan base for the coming season may even be a good thing. Who knows?
I’d been hoping to hear if he’d been spending time in the ruck and also if English had been up forward at all. Disappointing if this hasn’t been happening.Yeah sounds like he hasn’t missed a beat at all which is brilliant, I think it’s understated how much he’s going to bring once he’s up to speed here.

Reckon we bury this one..
Reckon we bury this one..
The Dunkleys as a whole just reek of absolute arrogance and self entitled.
Andrew Dunkley is very toxic and was a key reason for the push to get Josh to Essendon. Could reel off more on this but I'll leave it at that.
Kyle is just a spud footballer who's trying desperately hard to live under his brothers shadow by constantly putting photos of himself in his Brisbane Lions kit on his insta stories.
Your team environment is in a far better place without the Dunkleys being involved.

Didn't know that about Bruce.Seriously, why are we giving this campaigner so much air time. He has joined a new club, he is going to want to show his loyalty and win over new fans, he is not going to do that by raving about the premiership winning midfield at the Bulldogs is he.
I honestly think what happened fell between these two statements. We know he was pissed off with Hunter and Bruce at different stages, but his father still seems to treat him like a boy and makes decisions for him. I do think he gave his all for the club when he played, he wasn’t fat and lazy like Stringer at the end, he was always a professional on field.
This^^^I could be wrong, but did Andrew Dunkley have a falling out with Sydney after he retired?
Could this have anything to do with Sydney not doing more to get both Mills and Dunkley in the same Draft?
I am sure if they really wanted Dunkley, they could have done more to move up in the Draft to ensure they got both Dunks and Mills. Perhaps they knew what the Dunkleys were like and they assessed the consequences of sacrificing their strong Draft hand would outweigh the benefits of drafting Dunkley.
Perhaps they knew all along the apple wouldn't fall far from the tree.
