"He suffered stab wounds to his shoulder and hands while trying to get the 16-year-old alleged attacker off of Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel."
On Thursday morningOh okay, I heard early reports that all involved with the offender were treated at the scene for minor injuries and didn't bother following it up.

"I am doing fine, I am recovering very quickly," he said.'
Very early Tuesday morning's NSW Police website news update mentioned hospitalisation of some of the victims. The injured individuals suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being conveyed to hospital.
I agree, it's a very difficult decision to make but the sentence needs to be an overwhelming deterrent. Not solitary but 10 years minimum.Did he need to go to hospital?
I'm not trying to deliberately play the incident down, I'm baulking a bit at a potential life sentence for a 16yo and the suggestion he needs solitary for the rest of his life as another poster has suggested.
Investigators will need to take a hard look at where he was radicalised or where he might have been inspired with the idea that the Bishop should die.
Eff that, just block Twitter in Australia, easiest thing in the world. The majority of Australians wouldn't notice it's gone, other than the Twittersphere bubble inevitably dominating the media for a week whinging about it.Australia might need to lobby the US to change its laws to either force X to comply, or try and get the US Government to shut down twitter.

In a tweet early Saturday local time, Elon Musk, who purchased Twitter in April 2022, claimed “The Australian censorship commissar is demanding global content bans”.
Faced with fines it failed to comply with the order, X’s global government affair’s team claimed posts it had been ordered to remove did not violate its rules on violent speech.
In a statement, which was shared by Musk, the social media giant said “recent attacks in Australia are a horrific assault on free society” but vowed to fight the removal notice.
“The Australian eSafety Commissioner ordered X to remove certain posts in Australia that publicly commented on the recent attack against a Christian Bishop,” X said.
“X believes that eSafety’s order was not within the scope of Australian law and we complied with the directive pending a legal challenge.
“X has now received a demand from the eSafety Commissioner that X globally withhold these posts or face a daily fine of $785,000.”
...
“While X respects the right of a country to enforce its laws within its jurisdiction, the Commissioner does not have the authority to dictate what content users can see globally. “We will robustly challenge this unlawful and dangerous approach in court.
“Global take-down orders go against the very principles of a free and open internet and threaten free speech everywhere.”

That would be good.Eff that, just block Twitter in Australia
It's got a lot harder to cut through the swamp of bad information since Musk took over.
Eff that, just block Twitter in Australia, easiest thing in the world. The majority of Australians wouldn't notice it's gone, other than the Twittersphere bubble inevitably dominating the media for a week whinging about it.
While I cannot stand Elon Musk, it is correct that Australia cannot enforce its orders in other jurisdictions. If they are attempting to, that is absolutely wild overreach.Australia might need to lobby the US to change its laws to either force X to comply, or try and get the US Government to shut down twitter.

Yes but Musk didn't pay billions for Twatter. If he is going to show no respect or empathy for victims and survivors, just cancel his stupid echo chamber. I don't agree that all SM is inherently negative and should be banned/further regulated. Its not twitter itself that's the problem, its social media as a whole. Block twitter in Australian and next month there's suddenly a new app called twatter, which acts a lot like twitter. By pushing Twitter to remove videos of particular items, this then sets a precedent which can be argued legally against others if twitter complies.
Elon free speech for me but not thee
Even moreso if it was a video of a family member of his getting violently stabbed in the face and head by a stranger without any provocation, because of what their their relative (Elon) had said or done, that the stabber took offence too.Guarantee if it said something nasty about Elon he'd be keen to see it removed.

Wouldn't surprise me if his tattoo was a temporary one, he's not of any religion, and that he blew in just to stir up trouble.
Maybe the bloke described below.I saw images of someone marching around with a massive gold cross as if it was a holy war reminiscent of the crusades
