Was he a peadophile himself. It's not proven but I know a Ballarat family who say he molested their child, they have claimed this for decades before it all came to a head. He was a grub, a monster. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I know of two different people who grew up in Ballarat who have stories about Pell being a creep. Pretty much goes for any Catholic who grew up there around the time.

I am a survivor of childhood clerical abuse. For many years I attended a mens group of the same (not all clerical). Within that group were more than one person who claimed to have been sexually abused by George Pell. I am of the belief that he and a group of survivors received some form of compensation from the Church for their abuse, amazingly without needing to start legal proceedings as they were almost headed off by the Church to keep things quiet. Child Sexual Abuse isn’t a political left or right thing, it’s traumatic and life changing. So what I hate is ********s like you posting shit you know nothing about.

Especially when I'd suspect there's at least a 50% chance they're just trolling.

I'd say that - at best in terms of his own culpability - Pell was complicit in giving the reputation of the church a higher priority than the safety of dozens, if not hundreds of future victims of sexual abuse by moving paedophile priests around to different parishes, instead of immediately investigating and turning them over to the police.

Unfortunately the right have made a lot of simple things that should’ve been simple bipartisan efforts into left vs right culture wars.

Pandemic
Vaccines
Child abuse in the church
Respect for LGBT persons
Respect for migrants
Climate action
Natural disasters.

The Royal Commission found he shuffled priests onto unsuspecting new victims in different locations. And he tried to bribe parents trying to expose a pedo priest to keep quiet, which would’ve led to the pedo having access to more kids.

Discount the dozen or so allegations of him actually molesting kids himself (most didn’t come to trial as the victims committed suicide or were so f*cked up by drug use they couldn’t testify) and it’s been proven by a body his direct action almost certainly led to kids being r*ped.

That’s just as bad, if not worse, than the pedos themselves.

as i mentioned earlier, passing in his holy orders is a small thing for hollingworth. doubt he had much choice. giving up his enormous lifetime gov't pension would have some meaning. which, of course, he won't do.

that said, pell wilfully protected hundreds of pedos and wilfully put obstacles in the way of those seeking to expose it or who had experienced it. far worse than hollingworth imo
 
There are more than a couple of people in Ballarat with Pell allegations. Unfortunately some of them relate to family members who took their own lives because they were also victims of that utter piece of excrement Ridsdale.
Mulkearns was also culpable in this cover-up.

You'd think it would be hard to find a more despicable trio of Australian clerics acting in concert.

Sadly not. The Catholic Church seems to feature too many of these twisted bastards acting in unison.

It all started with Monsignor John Day in Mildura, he got away with it, had Ridsdale there for a time and bizarrely Paul David Ryan lived with him for a time whilst a minor. Not hard to join the dots. O’Collins firstly and then Mulkearns both culpable in conjunction with the boys in blue

To follow up this post, several weeks later and neither John Howard, Tony Abbott, Peter Dutton nor any of the right wing Pell acolytes have said a single word in memoriam of Father Bob.

Just proving they’re the absolute scum they appear to be.

They never did - any suggest that they did is just lies / media spin.

They’re playing major hardball now on every case - even taking cases to the high court trying to cover their arse.

CCI is broke, they’ve got no coverage and they’re bleeding from every orifice yet still they’re prepared to try and do over victims by trying to stall and delay proceedings in the hope that they give up. You cannot imagine how low these campaigners are. Each time burning millions in legal fees in a fight they cannot win. The campaigners in charge (not all religous) need naming and shaming and a good old fashioned flogging.
 
I was forced into this appalling cult as a child, like millions of others. I still deal with their damage in one way or another daily. My parents put me in their hands because they'd been brainwashed too. The single thing I'm proudest of is that I broke away and protected my own kids from them. The sexual abuse may have been reduced, but the psychological damage all that hocus pocus bullshit does is as frightful as ever.
