I need help?

I purchased a reserve seat for this Saturday nights game by accident, i want to bring my Wife along but i am using my membership to get me in and i wanted her to sit with me in the general admin section, but i rang up ticketek and they said i will have to purchase another general admin ticket at the game because this reserve ticket that i had already purchased wont be able to get my Wife in through the general admin gates.

Does anybody know if this is true or can my Wife still sit in the general admin section with the reserve ticket?
 
You shouldnt have a problem getting in, depends where the reserved seat ticket is for.

If its near a general admission area just use the ticket to get in and then just sit in the general admission area. I have done it before myself.
 
I bought reserve seats to the Melbourne match in Round 1 and tried to get into Gate 1 with my membership card (that's what we've always done), and was told I had to swipe the Ticketek ticket to get in. Not sure which gate you walk in to be able to sit in the GA seating in the Ponsford stand (M28-31), but I would assume it's Gate 1.

I can't see why your wife can't sit in the GA area with a ressie ticket. In Round one, there were no stewards checking tickets inside in the M36 reserved area.

Your wife can certainly sit with you in any Gen Admin area.

Worst case scenario, whoever is getting in using the reserve ticket will have to walk through a different door but the same gate. Once you're in, you're in.

Cheers, I dont think i will be buying tickets online again, might have to spend some extra cash next year and get my Wife a membership too...
 
when I purchase online using my membership I always go for premium, I pay ~$10 for mine, around $40 for the missus, ~$10 for the sproggett, we all sit together.

There is no such thing as a General Admin gate. Just walk to Gate 1, scan your barcode or membership and you're fine. No one will be standing on the G.A. bays so there will be no issue.
 
Hmm, I'm confused, i purchased two tickets which are listed as reserve seating in M34, I'm a member and my better half isnt, just to avoid worrying, we should be able to get in here no problems yes?

Shouldn't have any issues, you both have reserved tickets. The stewards don't check memberships if you have a ticket.
 
GA seats are level 4 unless you are lucky like some at the pie game where they did open 3 bays level one on the day

which i feel will not happen this game !
you still can sit ga even though you have a reserve seat but there is a good chance if you go to sit level 1 with no reserve seat ticket for that seat,
you will be moved by who has the reserved seat that you are sitting in does that make sense hope it does

It makes heaps of sense, we will be rocking up at the game around 5pm,

The operator from Ticketek told me i had to pay for another GA ticket at the game and i just thought that i have already paid for this reserve ticket so i didnt realy want to spend any more money on another ticket..
 
those operators can be dumb sometimes ! my friend says i want to sit near hawks cs they are t such and such end they will say oh no they are at the other end twice they have convinced her that they are right and they are wrong !
i am sure you can sit ga i could not see you having a problem with sitting ga even though ticket is a res seat just remember ga is more then likely level 4

gates should open about 5pm
 
My kid and I are both GA members. We'll just rock up early at Gate 1 and take our chances in M28-31.

Last year R22, we upgraded and got seats in row QQ, lower atmosphere right next to the new scoreboard. Meanwhile the bays behind the Ponny Stand at ground level were almost vacant ! Not being fooled again this time.
 
Don't believe the status of seating given on the ticketek website.

They don't open up all available bays for sale, but wait until the chosen few are full before they open others. I
I don't think they open new bays until the next morning.
It makes it really difficult to upgrade to reserved seats for replacement games in advance unless you want to sit directly behind the goals and there is no reward for getting in early or any special section for members.

The automated system is inflexible and the operators are unhelpful or incompetent or powerless. Ticketmaster was much better.

i got tickets for blues game against cats the operator as i had called was helpful i got front row, via ticketek as was at the g

the ticket master site online like you said unflexible going to an outlet better the pies game was no ground level but they must not have sold all so opened 3 bays on level 1 ! as you do not know till the day wasn't happy but i had rung on the monday i did not want to wait and ring on the fri or even wait for the day so had bought tickets for the game

Exactly...Docklands is still with Ticketmaster. They are always helpful. Ticketek (MCG) is another story. Wish they would go back to ticketmaster.

Southern Stand
- Bays Q1 – Q5
- Bays Q6 – Q15, rows K-DD
Ponsford Stand
- Bays M28 – M31
- Bays Q29 – Q36

- Bays Q49 – Q57

I'll be going there early to get a seat in M28 - 31...usually these bays fill up very quickly.

blues v cats was mcg and ticketmaster i may have been lucky to get a good phone operator by sounds of it
ticketmaster :thumbsu: has such a better online system then ticketek :thumbsdown:

why is there more then 1 ticket mob be so much easier if only 1 did all wouldn't it ?
 
- Bays M28 – M31 did not see that the other day ?? or did it blend in very well in between the q levels ? should be first up dam i bought a ticket but at least that means i don't have to rush and stand for hours
