Who else thinks it would be a good idea to bring Presti back and play him as a back man and try Clement in the forward? If the back line begins to fail just make some changes. Clement is a great kick and once kicked 5 goals when he was at Freo. Our goal kicking has cost us a few matches in the past and Clement could help with that problem if he's needed. Imagine having a forward line that read...

HF: J Clement , T Cloke, D Thomas

F: N Buckley, A Rocca, S Rusling

And if Bucks or Thomas played up in the midfield on Clement moved down back for a bit there would still be Medhurst, Didak, and Davis. Even Tarks ,Swan, and Burns.

I just reckon it's worth a shot.

He played his best game of the year last night. He completely towelled up davis and was the general we know and love in the backline. I cannot believe he did not get names in the best on the afl website(do they watch the game) I thought he was close to our best.

Leave him where he belongs-In the backline. We have been crying out for a bit more experience down there you dont move an aa defeneder from the backline to be a bit parts forward. Beside I reckon in rocca, clokes, rusling, davis ,didak and buckley we have all the forward options we need

You're a funny guy

Too busy banging on about Goodes. BTW he captained the losing team! Clement did play well and was like an older Heath Shaw at times, just running wherever he wanted. Evidenced by his goal.

There would be no benefit in putting him in the forward line at all. To start with the forward line is fine as is. People whine about Rocca, but he's given us a great return this season. Rusling was sensational last night and has a massive future in our forward line. With him, cloke and Rocca as key forwards, and Didak, davis, medhurst and Thomas our forward line is our strongest point right now.

Clement's best footy is when he wins a one on one and then charges down filed to deliver to someone further up field. Putting him in the forwards would take his best part of the game away.

You know, when I saw Clement kick his goal last night I immediately thought that this stupid idea would raise it's ugly head.
This isn't the time of year to try something to see if it works.

Jimmy should find himself in that position more often. There have been a number of times when he has the opportunity to carry the ball to 55m - 60m out and unload on the goals. He usually hits a leading player on the ***.

If he is anywhere within range, have a bing Jimmy and float down there more often!!!!!!!!!!!

No way he is brilliant in the backline, keep him there. Our defence needs as much guidance as it can get. Clement didn't get 20+ possesions like he can get but what he did when he didn't have the ball was just superb. He was a real leader out there, directing the tempo by barking out orders and like in soccer keeping the "shape" when trying to beat the flood.

Not his best of the season, but best game since his return - still isn't back to his pre-injury form just yet (closing speed still a tad off). Hopefully he'll regain that soon.

Well It doesnt need to be tried at all. He might play there next week, I don't think he will. Maybe if he plays on for another 2 years there will be other players filling the back line so I don't know. It could be worth playing him up there in a wizard cup game.

There's this saying about "flirting with form"... ie. you don't do it.

Well I wouldn't say he's in form at the moment off just the one game. He has been better this year, but he did play a good game on the weekend.

This is just a idea, I wouldn't imagine him being played down there but I think he could do it.

Davis, Medhurst, Didak, and Thomas also play in the midfield. I like Davis and Thomas in there but I'm not so sure about Medhurst and Didak, I like them more in the forward.

when full fit Clement is one of the best defenders in the league. There is no need to take him away from that just because he can play somewhere else. If we needed him at half foward different story but we dont so the suggestion is kinda silly

i have stated it twice on here now...

jimmy clement should be played further up the ground in pinch hits against flooding teams.

1) he is a target coming out of the back line
2) he has excellent skills
3) he is a long kick and as shown can bomb them from outside 50

I think he is the solution to a massive flood switch it to jimmy on the overlap goal. Have marty clarke, bucks or even trav(leading out of the flood) on the other side to provide two options.

even if he simply does a heath shaw or tarkyn style run out of the backline make his opponent tire.
