It's as it was proposed a few weeks back.

Sadly, they didn't take my suggestion of calling the Div 4 and Div 5 comps "Friday Night Legends" - can't win em all!

so am i on the right path?

Div 1 (QAFL) - Teams same as 2016

Div 2 -
Aspley
Noosa
Maroochydore
Mayne
Coorparoo
Springwood
Bond Uni
Burleigh
Caloundra
Yeronga

Div 3
Kenmore
Coolangatta
Robina
Moreton Bay
Coomera
Alex Hills
SE Suns
Kedron
Park Ridge

Div 4
Redcliffe
Strathpine
Wynnum
Vic Point Sharks
Carrara
Beenleigh
Ipswich
Griffith Moorooka

Div 5 - (location based friday night comps?)

I don't believe who is in what comp has been announced. Just what comps there will be.

Clubs have all nominated which one they would like to be in. I don't think its a given there will be no change to the QAFL.

Agreed, more put that up their as a ball park. feel free to criticize the decisions, but i believe they are 4 fairly even comps

So is it going to include a relegation/promotion system of some sort or do teams stay as are unless they personally request a change?
8 teams in Div 4...might be a proper home and away season almost??
Looks pretty reasonable to me, but would have to make room for those clubs that get smashed over an off-season, like we did in 2013, and had to drop down 2 divisions to rebuild.

Promotion/relegation from Div 2 to Div 4.

Not optional. You win, you go up, you finish bottom you go down.

Promotion to QAFL requires jumping through a few more hoops

Makes a lot of sense. Not sure I agree that clubs should nominate bc this is often half the problem - clubs think they are far better/stronger than they really are. History shows which clubs have been consistently around the mark and if the league gets it wrong then there is the capacity for promotion/relegation which is good.

Seniors:
Beenleigh vs Park Ridge - Buffaloes by 2
Kedron vs Vic Point - Lions by 73
SES vs G.Moorooka - Suns by 92

Mark "Gus" Kennedy plays his 400th game ( Beenleigh, Logan and the Suns ) for the Suns against the Rooster. A huge achievement, well done Gus

Sent to club admin only mate??

It was sent to me, but had no news. Just that the proposed structure is now adopted and only one club was happy to leave it as is.

Noted that clubs had all nominated their preferred division and that not all would be placed according to preference and discussions would be had with those clubs in due course.

I don't see enough demand for 2 x friday night comps. But only a minor issue.

Comps with less than 8 teams are boring imo.

Karma, you forgot to mention his time at Alex Hills!!
Yeah one season a flag in 1996 played back pocket I think. He missed a year or two after that playing cricket in England. When Suns formed they agreed to include games played for Beenleigh and Logan in club records hence the 400.
To be honest I didn't agree with it at the time until I realised that when games were merged I finished with 1 more than Kiwi rather than one behind him lol

Strange scenario with the merging of games, still can't work that one out karma

I believe it was in draft constitution for the Suns in proposed merger a couple of years back between Buffs and Cobras and was left in when they didn't merge. Agree, hard to get head around for us purest's. As Blocker mentioned Gus played a season at Alex Hills also so he has played well over 400 games in total

And good on him, massive effort to play so long

Now up on AFLQ web site - not the teams of course.

Wowwe 101 with a game up his sleeve that is easily the best individual performance I've seen absolutely amazing and 91 for fitzy should be snuffed at . Great goal kickers privileged to play against them.

Beenleigh will shake a few sides up come finals a fast aggressive style of footy suited to the big ground . Brought it to us all day definitely not a 3 horse race .
