It costs clubs to challenge, surely PBC not picking up the tab for AFLQ challenging?
No Thommo, that wasnt what I meant if you read it that way.

Just saying in order to appeal etc, AFLQ also incurs extra costs.

The club (palmy) here doesn't pay fees to the league for either going to Tribunal hearing or the Appeal. But has to incur it's own costs re defence.

I'd have to say that PBC's strategy to connect with higher ranking Southport players in Burge, Crowley, Anthony, Troutman & McKenzie was superior to clubs who went with the plan to access the fringe NEAFL players so they could get service from them during that year.

Early days of the mini draft I think you will find Labrador took the higher end Southport talent as they didn't want much interruption to their senior list each week. But they didn't really retain many I think. At that stage Labrador were the best team in the comp with back to back flags.

From memory, Palmy were taking fringe talent then as I think they saw gaps to fill.

Later years the strategy has been to take higher range talent and a few have come over. Mostly planned but some a bit out of the blue ie Anthony, Burge.

Once you get a few in and they like what they see the others want to follow. But helps of course if you have strong list and some depth in the two's

Well Gents - good selection in Macansh coming in - highly skilled player.
Great to see Sewell back in as well.

Im going for the upset and surfers by 17 points.

Do you reckon there's a bit in the fact that both Aspley and Redland bay both have 2nd tier sides while Southport don't? Would it be easier for Gold coast clubs to get ex sharks players/juniors who don't want or can't play NEAFL. Knowing they would have to move club to play elsewhere?
My mail is Aspley potentially quitting NEAFL asap - have given notice in response to the salary cap situation at the sharks.

So it’s not a case of who ever is guilty or not but more so a case who can afford the fees or not, so the league will abandon the process to prevent occurring fees, Palm Beach holding the league to ransom once again.

So long lunch today Ablett? Do you even read the posts before you write.

There is generally no connection with what you say and the post you quote.

Maybe grab a couple of strong black coffee's and a cold shower before you post again.

You really struggle with adding any value to this forum. Do you know a bit about Macansh do you?

Got a good podcast you could listen to. It's called My Life as a Big Footy Forum Troll.

And while you think you know a bit about everyone, when you add up all the bits, you don't really know all that much do you.

Ok I’ll be serious then.

Palm Beach to win comfortably, but like everyone except Palmy supporters, I’ll be barracking for a Surfers.

Fair enough. But the stats say PBC the past 2 years have used less NEAFL aligned players on average than everyone else.....and as you correctly say same for Labrador at their run

What a thriller... In the opening minutes of the 3rd quarter when Palmy kicked 2 goals in 4 minutes to forge 12 points ahead I thought game over for the Demons ,,,,but they persisted and actually with about 7 or 8 minutes to go in that 3rd quarter I noticed The Demons where getting first to ball and palmy struggling to keep up .Final quarter was a beauty , Well done Demons , a fantastic effort ,
And what a great crowd, estimates of some 3500 packed into one side of the ground between the half forward flank and half back flank only, making for a fantastic, noisy atmosphere that was so loud with the cheers being echoed under the stadium weather roofs.
Fantastic game and venue for a QAFL Grand Final.
