Yeah we have recruited really well after losing a heap of top liners also! The points drop in premier Victorian leagues has certainly been a saviour as has recruiting back former juniors like Langan and Rusan so looking ok points wise!

Both playing Lions VFL.

I'm sure Swanny will direct them to Panthers, but a few clubs probably trying to get them aligned
Raynor aligned with Aspley and Dunkley trying to get on main list but if he only ends up playing VFL think he has already committed to Morningside.

Only way Dunkley can get on the main list is if we have a LTI (Marcus Adams), and he gets picked up in the SSP or MSD.

But a reserve KPD would be a far, far greater need.

So who’s the high profile AFL player Palmy are in negotiations with?
Croad back is a good get plus some other handy recruits it seems.
Once again the GC clubs are loading up except Surfers as per usual .
Maybe Southport should enter a reserves team in the QAFL under the banner of Surfers Paradise to keep Surfers financially sustainable?
Then all Southport players whom don’t get a game are at one club opposed to being spread out which can upset teams structures

Only problem with the spt/sharks idea is that currently all the clubs (inc Aspley with Banks Smith) encourage up and coming players to have a go at VFL level that would change if some of those guys would end up playing against you

From our position be great if we had a VFL team whereby our good youngsters could have a crack at.We’ve lost 7 of our 17-21 year olds down south chasing spots/training on VFL lists. It’s a great advantage to the GC clubs not just with playing quality but recruiting also. And the Lions give you nothing!Aspley in the VFL was great for us in this regard.Maroochydore in same boat I’d imagine.

17 year olds?

So they would be dropping out of the Lions academy, or not in it, if they are heading down south before their draft year.

What are thoughts on kids who miss out on a game at QAFL level (1s, 2s, colts)...should players be sent back to community clubs but not necessarily 'home'.

Ie. Kedron lose 6 colts aged kids to Wilston Grange who would otherwise move into their senior program. They all get a game but WG have 6 juniors miss weekly...should they be sent to Kedron (mandatory) to return the 'favour', ensuring everyone gets a game YET community clubs are not left short having lost juniors (families) thinking they need to move to continue their footballing journey?

Like this mate. Parents of 14-15 year olds moving kids from good clubs to QAFL clubs for the “journey” are probably the most moronic people going. Some of the fantasies they get sold for their special boys blow my mind.. To have kids filter back when not selected to community clubs be good for egos of some kids, but mainly their moronic parents
