Went and had a look at Cooke Murphy.

Aspley definitely off their tucker but I’d give credit to Lab for their pressure.

No doubt scoreboard pressure accurate kicking was a factor of course but overall a deserved win by Lab. With the other results all of a sudden 6th spot definitely theirs for the taking.

Watched the last few mins of surfers/Morningside on YouTube and looked like a cracker

With Broady having a bye I went and watched
the Surfers vs Morningside game . It was a even contest all day with the lead changing on many occasions and Surfers got up by a point.
Because the game was so contested pressure wise it was a scrappy looking game . Not a lot of good teamwork passages of play and lots of skill errors made mainly becauseof the pressure and intensity at the ball .
Buzza was a dominate player up forward for Morningside and they have a guy by the name of Cedric Cox ( no 9 ) playing on the half back line who played real well ,, this guy has some class about him ,,

Must comment ,, Surfers whilst not looking the goods today,,, just dont give up ,, they just go and go and go , no giving up

Cox is a former Brisbane Lion (13 games) if you weren’t aware. Good pick up for the panthers. Has he been playing all year?

I think it gives hope to other sides to feel Aspley is definitely beatable. They will finish 1 or 2 so get home finals but it does show the evenness of this comp.
Labrador certainly in box seat now. Maroochy well placed to finish season with 2 wins but not sure that will be enough.

It was a cracking game at Fish rd today with a see sawing affair early and pbc leading by near 4 goals at one stage in Q3. Roos kicked a couple late to narrow the margin and the last qrt was a beauty. Young Ben Thomas stood on a guys head to take a screamer and Robertson ran all day with Wagner controlling back half. McLachlan is a very very good footballer who is playing fwd a lot more now and a real weapon plus a good foil for scholard. Plenty of young blokes in Roos side too. Counted at least 4 U18 boys plus a couple just out of colts. It was a super game.

Have to disagree with you Stu I thought Surfers ball movement was some of best transition I have seen at QAFL for a while. I think if top sides are a little off their game they are the smokies to win it.

Lappin has done an awesome job with a lot of no names that just run all day. Thought Morningside played well in passages but just couldn’t put Surfers away at certain points of game.

Yea thats how I saw them the other week vs Maroochy too SM. All the sides around them have far better sides on paper but they just continue to show up.

Great to see Surfers win. Same old Morningside, cynically loading up on VFL blokes who have almost zero connection to the joint for one off games and leaving their developing talent out, didn't get them over the line. Different coach, same culture. Obviously Watts wasn't the issue.

Isn't there a limit when there is a VFL bye on 4 players being allowed to play across all the clubs? Rayner, Buzza, Hille, Dunkley, Barry by my calculations makes 5. TO be fair, I don't think Barry shlould count though.

Great final rounds coming up. Palmy having Magpies and Vultures in last 2 rounds gives them a sniff, Labrador probably just need to win 1 of their 2 against Grange, then resurgent Broady and Maroochydire flying home and the final round coast derby might be massive with a finals spot on the line for the Roos. Grange could easily drop their last 2, but they are safe regardless, congrats to them on their first finals campaign in a long time, finally coming together.

Great fortnight of footy coming up.

Get your facts right. Rayner plays for Aspley, Dunkley didn’t play and Barry is the son of Jack Barry who was long time CDO at Morningside. How does that make 5. !!!! With their injury list no developing talent was left out

learn to read.

The limit is 4 across the competition, doesn't matter what club they play for - its meant to be 4 in total. Well aware of who Barry is, but he is still a VFL listed player.
