SMY ,, its a very small oval,, shorter then neraly all ovals in the QAFL and is quite narrow as weel ,, especially in the pocket pocket across the ground wise .. pity as it has a great surfaceYea disagree - it's a good sized footy oval imo.
Agree,, Yeronga the white elephant ...It’s 10-12 mtrs shorter and 7-8 metres narrower than yours smy, better than that shithole at yeronga though
I’ve always thought this as well. I get Springfield isn’t exactly the most central location but facilities are surely about as good as you’ll possibly get. Train line right next to it, they play it for the QAFLW who always seem to treated to the top echelons by AFLQ surely you can play the premier comp in QLD’s GF there too.Why not Brighton Homes the Lions Training base for GF. Surely best surface available in Brisbane outside Gabba?
Agree with you here and the supporter that luvs his QAFL footy will travel there but I dont think the others would so the crowd may be well down on the normal.I’ve always thought this as well. Given that the Lions AFLW team play Collingwood on the Friday night before the QAFL grand final, and that it's likely that the Lions VFL team would be a chance to host a final the same weekend, I'd say that Springfield is highly unlikely. The political direction that the woke AFL is certainly a part of, would suggest they SHOULD use Springfield, if only for the tens of (hundreds?) of millions of dollars spent building the 'carbon saving' public transport systems tailored to the venue. However, the woke institutional hypocrisy we so often witness, suggests we'll drive hundreds of cars congesting roads, and burning carbon to the QAFLs blue ribbon event, 'slumming' it at some worn out or lesser venue.

Is that a political or football statement??The political direction that the woke AFL is certainly a part of, would suggest they SHOULD use Springfield, if only for the tens of (hundreds?) of millions of dollars spent building the 'carbon saving' public transport systems tailored to the venue. I didn’t enjoy that GF all that much…Ide be happy to see it played at Grange. Went to a Pineapple Cup granny there and it was a brilliant atmosphere and great viewing facilities.
I don't think anyone from Morningside, Aspley or any other team inside the top 6 would agree with you.Ide be happy to see it played at Grange. Went to a Pineapple Cup granny there and it was a brilliant atmosphere and great viewing facilities.
Yeh probably not, but plenty of leagues play GF at same venue (best venue) every year regardless who is in it.I don't think anyone from Morningside, Aspley or any other team inside the top 6 would agree with you.
Sorry , no you wouldn't of, I reckon if you guys had of kicked straight, from memory and correct me if I'm wrong, something like 1 goal 7 behinds between 2nd and 3rd qtr, reckon you'd have a medal.I didn’t enjoy that GF all that much…
Is that a suggestion that Hickey Park is the stand out venue in QAFL?Yeh probably not, but plenty of leagues play GF at same venue (best venue) every year regardless who is in it.
Go to the politics if you want ramble on something that has nothing to do with footballThe blurred line between corporate owned sport and social engineering Politics has long since disappeared.
No, I should of prefaced it with 'usually' the best venue. It had no problems catering for the gameIs that a suggestion that Hickey Park is the stand out venue in QAFL?
