Anyone hear Ross Lyon on 882 last night?

They haven't put a link up as yet.

Yep:

- C. Pearce just copped a knock to the ear and should be fine, he's one of the under 24's who have a huge history at the club.
- Taberner has jumped leaps and bounds
- In regards to McPharlin stranger things have happened (i.e. look at Barlow)

That's all I can remember.

I did Harry. He was like 30 minutes late as they could not get hold of him. He didn't seem quite as stressed as precious weeks, but he was the same as we have come to expect from him on a Monday, saying there is no info he can give us as he has not seen the players yet.

I always have wondered whether they should have made this interview Tuesday night after they have at least had a session.

Obvious said that Johnson will see specialist today but gone for the year

When asked about Macca he said that he is a week or so away, but so was Michael Barlow so he will see how the week goes.

Said that Sylvagni was tactical and will come in as will Fyfe.

Seems switched on and knows what he needs to do.

Harry are you heading to training today ? I think training will be very interesting this week to see what they practise

Think Sydney should be more wary of our potent forward line than theirs (grant our backline will need to be at their best); Pav's returned to near-best form, Taberner's been a revelation, Mayne's returned to full-form and kicking confidence, the magical Son-Son is ready to set the game alight (7 goals in 3 games), Ballantyne an AFL Top-10 goal kicker and game changer - not to mention the enigmatic Crozier and Max Duffy just waiting for another chance.

Our midfield is back to full-form, the defences will have to hold but I think there will be enough support from our extra bodies to suck the life out of their attack.

I liked RTB's comment "the swans forwards better catch it because we will be off and running"

Not a good time of the year to lose Michael Johnson. I'm one one those who wants to see the best play the best and watch as the best team wins.

This is not a troll, it's a sincere best of luck to the Freo faithful. I'll be watching the game in a room full of Dockers fans with 3 Swannies. It's gonna be hard on the paddock, it's gonna be hard in the stands, it's gonna be hard for one lot of supporters.

The issue with the Swans isn't the fact they are smaller bodies or whatever (as you say they aren't) but more the gameplan. They overuse the handball to the nth degree and it comes unstuck in wet weather. DPearce is going to be very important for us on Saturday if it rains.

That pretty much sums it up. We rely on quick handball chains and plenty of marks inside 50 so wet weather really impacts our game.

Things about this game which I am liking.

- A fresh Silvagni to take on the Buddy-beast
- A fresh Fyfe
- A more confident Barlow

Fox weather channel is still forecasting an increase in rainfall around Sydney for Friday and Saturday as the winds (moisture laden) blow onshore from the sou' east.Wet & showery 1 QF coming up.

Well if Sat is anything like today here in Sydney this will be the scoreline :

Fremantle 0.24.24 - Syd 0.23.23

Bloody hurricane weather
Crazy aye! Came out to Parra today and its looking ominous. Counting the sleeps until I can sit in the rain for a couple hours seems odd

Haha. True that. My only concern about rain helping us is that all week there are downpours followed by periods of sunny weather. Then rinse and repeat .

Most rain is predicted for the morning, so 2pm the sun will probably come out !

But there's a southerly blowing and here in the city its pretty much blue sky with some cloud cover ATM. I don't see it raining too much today, maybe the odd shower. It looks like a lot of the rain will come through on Friday

Yep sun is now out in Parra. This could work to our advantage. Means the Swannies won't be training in the rain and adjusting to the conditions.

That was what I thought on the way to the MCG for the GF last year. Adjacent flags were blowing in different directions.

Every month of the year in Sydney has an average of between 10.5 and 14 days of rain. It is a very rainy place. Sydney averages 143 rain days per year - (Seattle is variously quoted as 140 to 154).

Forget analysing rain in Sydney. Every game scheduled here is rain affected. If it is not raining during the game, the ground will probably still be wet from yesterday's rain.

Well, if it's pissing down with rain and blowing 40,000 bums I would much rather have the likes of Walters, Ballas and Crozier than Tippet, Buddy and Goodes in my forward line.

Agree except for Buddy who is basically a tall forward flanker and doesn't rely on contested marks to get most of his goals.

I have a good feeling about Mzungu on Saturday, Barlow and Fyfe and the smalls are the obvious candidates to do well but these conditions will suit Tendai too. Mzungu for BOG you read it here first.

You coming over Salim ?

Unfortunately my parents are here to visit for Father's Day. Baaaad timing, so I'll probably be only getting there game time. But I'm keen for one afterwards.

Believe it or not Olympic park is crap for this. There is only 1 pub there called the Brewery at the Novotel. For events like this they extend the beer garden out into the road but there are always big lines to get in after the game. That's all there is at ANZ.
