Park Ridge were the more superior side right from the get go. The class of Overington, Rutledge and Passfield through the middle was too hard to ignore. Cherry and Cester far too good up front.

Some gallant efforts from the young Buffs though. Balm at Fullback can play. Jack James was huge when it counted as well.

Class and experience prevailed at the end of the day. Best of luck to the Pirates in Div 1.

Proud of the effort from the Buffs, one Qtr from being relegated last year to playing in the GF this year. That older experience maybe got us in the end. To watch my kids v the highly recruited Pirates was an entertaining game.

Congratulations Andy and Co, Div 1 is a exciting challenge that we aspire to. My one eyed opinion was you got got the rub of the green in 50/50 calls but hey I’m one eyed.

Did laugh when I heard you gave the Buffs supporters the bird at the end of the game and told them to #%£€ off. Love it.

Congrats, hopefully the Buffs v Pirates continues one day.

Great comp, look forward to next year.

Cheers Mick

I was standing right next to the Buffs fans when Colla walked past. Head down, all smiles, shook my hand and kept walking.

Didn't see him give anyone the bird, just went to celebrate with his club and no doubt his 16 year old son who just won his first senior flag.

Was an exciting game, played very wide which was strange as from my observations neither team particularly fit and the bigger bodies of Park Ridge took over as the game slowed down. Thought Beenleigh unlucky in the last quarter as the wind that favoured the river end became gusty and started blowing both ways, though they just needed to be more direct and go up the middle. 20+ points down and they were playing slow footy around the boundary, left the run a little late.

Didn't stick around to see who won the medal, but no knowing who is who thought 17 for Beenleigh very good and 24,32 and 7 for Park Ridge were influential. Good last quarter from Colenso junior too.

Time to hit the phones though Blocker, I watched the thriller the day before and it could be a long year in 2019 without a solid 5-6 more injected into that side and a big pre-season for the boys too.

Well done on a good year, just 2 losses and a Cup is quality in anyones language

Anyone more on the send off? Couldn't see it on the live feed and none of the Beenleigh or Park Ridge boys really made a fuss when Davidson was sent off?
It was a long way behind play.
Was watching the game so didn't see the incendent.
My experience tells me he must have thrown a punch.
Its the only way you would get red carded for a behind the play report.
Yep no one really made a fuss and he ran off and the game went on.
Couldn't have been a good hit as no buffs player needed any treatment
So in the end id say he got sucked in and got caught.
He may have abused the umpire but that would only be a yellow.
Just really dumb and hope he bought beers for the boys because his contribution to the win was nothing.
Left before the game finished so didn't see him abuse the other coaches or umpires.
If this is true then I'd say he's played last game for a while.
I'm sure with that many officials around you just got yourself an extra few weeks.
What he needed to do was cop it on the chin apologize to his coach and teammates and sit quietly for the rest of the game.

Cheers Thommo appreciate the feedback mate.

Very interesting that you pointed out three players who were our best that were all under age of 17. So we also have some quality young talent.

Agree totally next year will be huge step up for our club but now is time to enjoy our success for a short time at least.

Just on the red card incident, I think it was very, very soft incident to say the least. To be sent off in a Grand Final for a push to the chest at best was ordinary decision. Think that was clearly evident by the fact no player showed any aggression to the incident and player didn't even show any signs of distress. so cut the boy a bit of slack as he had to endure 2 hours of not knowing if his actions might cost his team a GF.

For those that know the bloke he is a ripping individual.

You're not wrong that Noosa and Maroochydore are two sides very hard to catch, however from what I saw yesterday that side would trounce Yeronga and UQ, probably thereabouts with Burleigh and Aspley. Another pre season under the belt and the organic additions that come with a side that's just won a flag, I can see them teetering on the edge of finals with the likes of Mayne, Aspley (who will improve big time me thinks) and Coorparoo.

Blocker I have neveR had anything to do with Park Ridge until I saw them live, but seeing that supporter base yesterday and all their passion, seems like a really good club that are going from strength to strength in only 10 years of existence.

Defenitly not having a crack as his character mate.
No-one knew what it was for and as I said a red card must have been a punch.
To be sent for a push seems like a huge overreaction for an umpire.
But that's what they do in finals it's always the same.
As for your best players don't underestimate the influence your big ruckman had.
He was working both ends and his ground work was excellent.
The buffs had a young fella down back that cut off plenty of entry's.
I certainly thought he was one of the best on the day.
But all said and done you blokes controlled three quarters of the game and that was enough.
Good luck next year and I'm sure you and your club are ready for the challenge.

You know me Mick I wear my heart on my sleeve and sometimes people take that passion in a different light.

Not sure about the umpires having to much influence on the game apart from send off in my opinion.

Thought young John Duncan spoke extremely well in the after match and is a credit to your club as a young leader.

I think the Buffs like us will lose some of our young talent next year which is always hard, but if you are true to your kids you can't stand in there way.

Good luck for the future and I'm sure our local rivalry will continue on in the near future.

All good mate I know what you meant. We well aware of where we need to improve and we will be doing all we can to be at least competitive.

And you are right about Sulks our ruckman, he is a ripping bloke that has been with our seniors from when we started. I thought he was also in our best yesterday.

He actually did punch the Buff player in the jaw. It happened right in front of us. Apparently the young Buff player you're talking about is a 17yr old.

Didn't see the Auskick bib on the Beenleigh player. Are you for real. Once you cross the line in seniors footy, age has no bearing at all.

And still disagree that the contact was on chest.

Anyone had no bearing on result thank god.

Cheers Blackgun. Yes for a club only 5 years old at senior level we going alright. With 30,000 new homes being built in our area I'm sure once we get a new facility we will continue to grow.

We have super supporter base that are truly passionate. Good luck to you boys next year and hopefully see you back up in Div 1 sooner rather than later.

I think he was referring to the young lad I mentioned from buffs who was very good down back mate.
Not the one in the red card issue.

Think you've got your wires crossed there Blocker. Wasn't referring to the buff player who got punched in the face being 17. I was talking about the young fella out and about was saying had a good game apparently being 17.
