Buffaloes have been in discussions with the League for a few weeks now .So not sure who you have been talking to but they are way off the mark .Cooly may be interested as well .Kenmore have had discussions .Not sure what Bonds thoughts are .

People who I thought would have a reasonable idea but obviously not.

Coomera, Carrara, Robina, Bond, Cooly, Burleigh + Lismore , Byron, Ballina, Tweed make it a good 10 team Comp.
Furtherest trip is Lismore to Coomera which is under 2 hours, better driving South on the M1 than North.
Lots of good rivalry games.

I hear Coomera, Robina and Carrara are seeking new Senior Coaches next season?
Coomera would be a big task.

Carrara gets a big tick in its first season in a higher division, something to build on for next season, surprised the Coach isn’t Re-appointed after nearly getting them into the finals, is he moving on or being moved on?

Other commitments for the Carrara coach mate.

Coaching somewhere else?

He’s left Carrara in a better place than when he arrived which should be the aim of all coaches.
Nah mate, work and fam I believe.

He certainly has, did a wonderful job along side some great people in creating a great culture IMO

Word from Burleigh is they have no intentions to stay in Div1 and look forward to being part of the revised South GC Comp, they are sick of the travel to the Sunny Coast teams.

Cant blame them, plenty of southern teams and brissy teams to avoid so much travel IMO

Makes Div 1 interesting next year then Ablett. With only 9 teams now and Maroochydore and Burleigh out, plus questions on Noosa ?

Could be back to 6 or 7 Teams. Not sure who is in hurry to go up?

Heard Bond not 100% sold on idea and Commish has stated Buffs not over the line. Makes for interesting to see who jumps?

Bond not 100% sold on entering Div1 or playing in south GC Comp?

Hear they may leave Vic point and Alex Hills in South Comp , that’s a long way for Lismore to travel to and visa versa, none of the northern nsw teams have colts for next season.

Agree Ablett, and Kenmore is another interesting one from Div 2 where they will slot in.

Park Ridge looking to come back into Saturday Footy but we will be looking at Northside Competition as Jindalee, Moorooka, Ipswich and even Kedron closer to us in lieu of Coast side and Northern Rivers Teams.

Will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Surely you would not put kenmore
In that comp

Not really a “Northside” comp if teams an hour or more south are in it.. Hahahah. What a mess of a situation the whole changing of comps is.

Don’t think they’ll ever get the comps as good as they are right now. Don’t know why they feel the need to stuff around with the new points system and then change league structures. The Administration powers of both AFL and QAFL are making me hate the game. Just leave it alone and fix the obvious issues.

Disagree , travel factor should always be treated as of high importance, especially for the reserves and Colts survival.
Dominant teams will always happen and Dominance changes from teams to teams but the distance never changes and with the population growth and lack of roads infrastructure on the Gold Coast and outer Brizy suburbs the travel time from grounds to grounds is bound to increase before it decreases in the future.
Colts should never have to be on the road at 6:30am for 10:am start, the league needs to make it more appealing for colts to play footy cos they are the future of local clubs.

Agree for colts. Maybe they should make colts more location based then or have them play after the seniors. Need the stronger clubs playing the stronger clubs otherwise more clubs will fold or the gap get bigger.
Footy will disappear at this rate and change to a form of netball with kicking in it anyways

Went and watched the Buffs v Bond.

Great first half, a real arm wrestle.

3rd quarter bond just put on a clinic with the buffs having no answers. No 46 for Bond had 10 goals to three quarter time after one of the most dominant quarters I’ve seen from a forward in local footy in years.

Buffs too small today and seems they lost this one at selection IMO.

That bloke put on a clinic! Devastating stuff. Buffs got a tough gig next weekend. Real test of resilience. Hope Cooly win though

Spot on. From the looks of things today, too many young kids that just didn’t cut it at the finals intensity. Can’t see bond being beaten now. Another week off will do them no harm. I’m calling cooly to knock the buffs off next week.
Yeah he couldn’t drop a mark if he tried haha

fu** cooly. Buffs all the way 😜
cooly to knock the buffs off next week. They show up come finals time. I’d say a few to many young blokes in the buffs side not looking up to it at finals level. Can’t see anyone beating bond from here.
