I think most would agree that the Queens birthday is a much more high profile game than the one on Anzac day. The match being played itself this monday generates much more media coverage, anticipation and general passion from the teams and supporters. This is not a troll on Essendon, just merely stating the facts.

I'll concede that the game may not be as big in terms of the attendance but i dont think that is all that needs to be taken into account... what the Queens birthday does bring that Anzac does not it some skill on to the field that is actually enjoyable to watch, as opposed to the filth that Essendon comes up with week after week.

Ok, this must be a Lemming-style thread then.

Can anyone say Bay 13?!

A you know the moment some on Bigfooty states: "This is not a troll..." your in for one hell of a troll!!

Atypical Melbourne supporter though....for some reason he actually thinks someon gives a shit about his club, unlike most Melbourne supporters who don't even give a shit themselves!!

Essendon 6-4
Melbourne 1-9

It seems we play much better football.

Thats what I thought shut up.

ladder position isnt relevant to the style of footy we play, at least we are able to entertain the crowds and general public, it doesnt matter anyway despite our position weve got some good form going, been close in the last couple of weeks and have some key players coming back so watch out... coz we are a certainty to smash you this weekend

How does that explain your atrocious crowds?

Sorry but QB is just another Home and Away game to me.

Sorry, but you're a long way from the truth.

At the moment, the Brisbane-Western Bulldogs game has generated more hype than the Queens' Birthday game. If it's not even the most hyped game for it's round, I can't see it surpassing the most hyped game for the Home and Away season.

More gerneral passion? At the moment it's no more than a reason for Melbourne supporters to turn up because there will be a bit more of an atmosphere.

I know it's a radical difference in profile compared to what Melbourne is used to, but it's far from a big event.
