In the near term he is a good sub option. Maybe longer term he finds a role. But outside of that, the only way he is breaking into the 22 is through injury.
Maybe a wing role whilst Durrsma is recovering?

I’d be happy to replace Farrell with Bergman and Narkle to the wing? Those at risk are Sinn, Bonner, Farrell currently.

Maybe Mcentee for Fantasia but I just don’t rate Fantasia at all. We don’t need two attacking inconsistent forwards

Farrell and Bergman should stay where they are they are both playing well at the moment

None of them. I don't think he plays unless one or more of them are injured. And I have Sinn and Jackson ahead.
Sinn and Jackson aren't even close to ahead of Narkle. Narkle has been on our list for less than a week but has already played a better game for Port than either Sinn or Jackson have ever played.

But putting that aside, if by your own admission he doesn't crack our midfield, why wouldn't we look at trialling him in other positions?

I've liked McEntee this season, but Narkle's tackle counts this season show he can now do pressure, and he's a better player than McEntee in every other facet.

Unlike McEntee he could then be another legit rotation for the mids too, meaning Butters, Rozee and JHF can between them spend a few more minutes up forward where each is genuinely dangerous.

Pretty sure Geelong let him go because he couldn't play any other position apart from midfield.

I'm not sure Geelong would've picked McEntee in their forward line either, so comparison is moot.

They do pick Gryan Miers.

McEntee has a role in the forward line and he does it well. Our forward line has definitely been more than the sum of its parts without Marshall, Dixon, Georgiades, Fantasia and Rioli at various times and they keep kicking winning scores.

Narkle is basically depth, but he is quality depth. If we were going into finals and having to choose between Narkle, Jackson, Sinn, Mead etc as either a sub or bench rotation option, Narkle is the first one picked.

First highlighted column is average goals per game. Second highlighted column is average tackles inside 50 per game.

These four are 22-25 in the entire competition for tackles inside 50 who have played more than 3 games. They make it possible for guys like Rioli and Finlayson to do what they do.

To put this in perspective:

In 2020, Mitch Georgiades was our best pressure forward with 1.4 inside 50 tackles per game. Todd Marshall was next with 1.2 per game.

In 2021, Georgiades was again our best pressure forward with 1.2 inside 50 tackles per game. Powell-Pepper and Fantasia were our next best with 1.0 per game.

In 2022, Powell-Pepper was our best with 1.4 tackles inside 50, followed by McEntee with 1.3.

McEntee stays where he is. And when Dixon gets back, we'll be even better.

What I liked most about Narkle’s game on Sunday was his onfield coaching. Seemed to do a lot of work directing the younger players.

Near the end of this clip from 7 news you see Narkle give the ball off then yell at his team mate to go.

The Mcentee haters are certainly dedicated to the cause, will give them that.
I don't hate Macandcheese, I just hope we can find someone better. He is okay. Okay can be improved on.

If he keeps bringing that quality of game for the maggies, its a pickup that will certainly keep a few players on their toes and that's a great thing.

Sounds like a good dude.

After falling out of the AFL, it sounds like he has and is addressing the problems he had at Geelong and possibly adding a few extra strings to the bow.

He had a quiet confidence about him and said he would probably break into the team as a mid-forward but kinda said he had his eye of midfield later down the track.

The List Management may have picked Narkle up just before he is ready to take off.

If I looked like him every single surface at Chez Tribes would be a mirror 🤩

If I looked like him I'd rob banks wearing a Richard Nixon mask.
