One thing a lot of people need to realise is that he has done about 90-95% of the ruck work over the past few weeks (especially tonight) with very little rest. He's working harder than anyone else out there ATM, and yet still gets his knockers. Sure he can butcher the ball at times (in fact, most of the times) but I think that's more due to fatigue. He's doing just fine ATM.

I understand that he is rucking more than usual as Kruezer is still to get to full match fitness. Has no confidence in front of goals, and doesn't appear to be fit during games. He needs a rocket cause I reckon he could be extremely valuable if he can regain his confidence in 6 weeks time.

5. Scotland - just a complete toss-up between him and Simpson for 4 quarters of courage and poise tonite, especially when the pressure was on.
4. Simpson - see above!
3. Henderson - was given a vitally important job in the context of things tonite, given Petrie's form and his importance to the North forward line. I thought he beat Petrie more often than not, and even when Hendo was beaten, it wasn't by much.
2. Gibbs - for his important touches and goals at crucial times, especially when the team couldn't buy a goal early.
1. Duigan - his mark running back into a full-steam Petrie was something else. Probably the incident that inspired the win in the end (although Judd's great goal from outside 50 might have been just as important).

BYP: Yarran - would have given him the one vote if BYP didn't exist. Some of his runs were exceptional, but spoiled a little by trying to push it just a little too far.

It was a real team win tonite, as the votes in this thread reflect. Judd and Murph could so easily have got votes. So could Thornton, Laidler and possibly even Walker.

5. Murphy - after a slow start he worked his way into the game, to the point where he became more effective than Swallow as the game wore on.
4. Yarran - gave an absolute clinic tonight, totally exploiting a very lazy Brent Harvey.
3. Scotland - was our best early on, but went out of the game somewhat after half time.
2. Simpson - kept putting his body on the line all night.
1. Gibbs - best forward on the ground tonight, the only player that looked like going close to kicking a bag.

BYP - Yarran (refer above).

Kudos to Thornton who played the swingman role quite well & to Duigan for his courage & consistent aggressive attack on the ball.

The Champ had plenty of touches and was mostly round and quartered every time he went near it.

He was everywhere and battled his guts out. Kicked a goal from beyond 50 when most in the ground doubted he would make the distance. Team lifter. Like the Duck, he was never gonna miss.

I sit on the members wing in aisle 34 and was fuming when our fans booed him. It was fukn harsh on a guy who has just became a father and is a credit to the game.

I love Lenny Hayes & Luke Hodge as much as the next bloke. He's as tough or tougher than both. A lot of people forget that.

I loved calling out ' Balllllllllll ' every time he got caught, but more importantly loved watching Judd play tonight. 2ND BEST I'VE SEEN!!!!!!!

Our backline was really dominant, most of North's goals were from slicing through the press/zones too easily and getting a spare man running into the open goal.

5. Yarran - star, has top 10 in comp written all over him.
4. Laidler - brilliant & tough tonight
3. Simpson - great workrate & courage
2. Gibbs - great composure, 4 goals out of 11 says it all.
1. Scotland - how consistent is this bloke?

Unlucky - Duigan, Henderson.

5. Simpson ( great all night, best game of the year from Simmo )
4. Scotland ( was a rock in the first half, good in the second )
3. Henderson ( beat the form forward of the comp, great effort )
2. Gibbs ( provided the polish when it was needed )
1. Yarran ( run and dash and kept his man in check, kid can turn into a midfield jet when he matures over the next 2 to 3 years. Could possibly become scary good )

Special mentions - Duigs, Laids, Armfield ( job on Wells was very important )

A game we would have dropped in the last couple of years, a real sign of our improvement this year.

5. Yarran
4. Simpson
3. Henderson
2. Gibbs
1. Scotland

Armfield unlucky - super job on Wells

5. Simpson - I love no.6 and his courage and passion. He lifts this team.
4. Scotland - another Mr Courageous. We are so much better when Scotland and Simpson are on fire.
3. Gibbs - one of his best attacking games I've seen.
2. Yarran - can anyone catch him?
1. Duigan - for his courage.

Apologies to Murphy - prob should be in there, but I thought I'd give him a rest for a week ;)

5. Scotland
4; Duigan
3;Yarran
2:Simpson
1;Murphy

apologies Judd, Henderson and Laider

Cannot understand all the love for Gibbs' game. Thought he was soft and not because of his outside possessions. It was the amount of times he didn't attack the ball and man when it was his time to go. Enormous talent but too hot and cold for a number 1 pick.

Forgot all about Robbo, thought he was one of our best too.
