We need a new coach and footy ops.

And we need a clean slate them.

Including Walker, Sloane and Smith.

Arguably Laird, too.

We're a shit football club with a broken culture. We don't need minor adjustments, we need to burn it down and start again.

The scary thing is, the club think they already did that in 2019-20.

Any respect Rowie had is now gone. Has there ever been a bigger backflip. Coward.

I think he went as hard as he possibly could - we know what he thinks.

Don't direct your anger at him, direct it at the AFC who are so pathetic and weak that they use their power to muzzle one of their most passionate fans.

I hate people invoking Walsh - but we don't have man conversations, and we are NOT an AUTHENTIC football club.

If you can't defend your positions and decisions from Rowey, you sure as hell shouldn't stick with them.

Hawks are good, and we are down 6-7 very important players, including our 2 clear best. This performance highlights how poor some of our depth is.

Good
Reality check after a good few weeks
Curtin looks good around the ball
Soligo back in some form
Sholl
Bond did a good job on Ginni and had some good moments
Nank before injury.
Dowling is a good kid. He is year 2 and way fitter than most of our list.

Bad
Midfield is a big problem. Berry has a low ceiling and 12 disposals is unacceptable. Year 4 now. Trade. Taylor is in year 3, 9 disposals. Body composition not where it should be and not fit enough, needs a huge offseason. Laird wins the ball but cant do any damage with it.
Walker - Let him go, Fog and Thilt are better without him. Gona be 35 next year.
HBF is an issue, Hinge's brain fades are killer but otherwise a good piece.
Borlase is depth only.
Borlase/Keane, terrible
Himmelberg, seriously just play 2 talls because our 3rd is always useless unless its against West Coast.

Ugly
Just too many duds on the list given way too many games.
Walker? You're ****ing joking of course. The worst delivery of the season and he still kicks 3.3

Genuinely feel we'll be an instantly better side just by replacing / upgrading both of RoB and Murphy.

They are a symbol of mediocrity that define where we are at rn.
And their replacements will be the genuine A grade midfielders we so desperately need.

Go and have a nap grandpa.

Worst game for the year. I’m about to go out and don’t want to be on a downer so I’ll focus on positives for now

Soligo - tried his absolute ass off. Clearly wants to have the keys to the midfield passed to him
Sholl - was his consistent, 2024 self. A genuine positive from this year
Dowling - just finds a way to always have an impact on the game, with a good all-round skillset. High hopes for his development
Nank - our best HBF tonight. Showed he’s tough as nails with that HTB stinger, then coming back on and continuing to have an impact
MM - didn’t mind that bit of biff. Probably gets weeks but oh well
Pick 4 - 🔒

You unfortunately are 100% on the button....and it permeates through every leadership level of the club....all cowtied to the AFL's "don't rock the boat" directive.

The AFC exists to harvest supporter dollars and secure SA's part in any national media and sponsor deals. That's our entire purpose in life.

Trigg and Chapman refusing accountability for the Tippett disaster, at the expense of the Club, started the rot.

Roo almost changed it with Walsh - then he brought Burton in; while Chapman remained; any pretence of accountability and putting the club first disappeared after that.

Whilst wins like last week are fun sugar hits, we are simply plodding along as a footy club. In no man's land.

Outworked on the field and outcoached off the field today.

Hawthorn have a good coach, draft for talent and trade for need, and are willing to go through short term pain to play young players for long term gain.

We have a poor coach, ignore midfielders at the draft, and gift games to average players because something something winning and something something four points.

One is a professional football-focused organisation and the other one isn't.
So well put. The fact it was Hawthorn that beat us in that fashion says it all.

I repeat my comment of a few weeks ago - When were last coach searching i wanted Mitchell.

Took one good mark, the rest were cheapies. One out the back and one off a turnover that Keys set up on the wing.

His opponent ran off him all day.

I love the guy, but he's done. He can't get to the contest. Maybe not obvious on the TV.

Good points. :thumbsu:

Tex kicking our entire second half score until 5 minutes to go shows the root of our problem. It upsets our forward structure with our mids looking for him constantly. Fogarty and Thilthorp play better without him. Time for him to step aside and let them take over our forward line.

Curtin playing good footy in the middle in the SANFL but not thrown in there until halfway through the last after spending the quarter on the bench until then.

The incompetence of Nicks game day coaching and selections is beyond belief.
