Don't know what on earth happened for most of the second quarter but to get to half time 13 down, even with their awful kicking and then not to collapse in the second half was epic. But the same old problems cost us. That handball McGovern cut off in the last quarter to put them just out of reach was not a piece of great play by him, it was a piece of terrible timing by us. The ball could have been kicked out as soon as it was received, instead we held onto it to draw him to no-mans land and then turn him inside out, except it didn't work out that way.
I didn't realise what a little toerag Eddie Betts is. Ok, it's a Showdown, you've won your 250th game and you've just kicked your 5th goal with a good snap but the histrionics are to be reserved for your home team. He's probably been taking lessons in smugness from Taylor Walker.
Pittard had to continually play on forwards taller than him and his kicks from full-back more often than not came straight back.

Toumpas is clearly a confidence player who clearly has no confidence.

If we're ever going to get a return out of him, Ken has to back him in week in week out like he backed in Pittard week in week out in 2013 and 2014. He's never going to make it as an in-and-out fringe player who doesn't have a chance to acclimatise to AFL football.

In 2017 he should either play from Round 1 or he shouldn't play at all. If we continue to give him 5-10 games here and there when we have injuries, we're just wasting our time.
I'm in no way defending toumps game today, but I'm of the opinion we really screwed up with him this year.

We gave him a few games early. He looked average at times but mistakes were reducing by the week. We beat the Lions by 80 odd points. Toump has 22 possies and is starting to look like he's turning into a useful link man. Following that game he gets dropped.

Again i reiterate he was putrid tonight but I'm of the opinion we've done him zero favours helping him find some confidence at this level.

In the meantime we've got our VC playing soft football, getting games every week! What kind of msg does that send!?

Fair play to the Crows, a win is a win.

All the best to Smith, doesnt sound as though he will play again this year which is a huge bow to the crows. Accidental or not, Sloane will sit on the sideline for 1 week minimum.

Thought Lobbe competed really hard tonight. Schulz looks like an old war horse, I think his body has taken as much as it can take.

Also once again too many passengers...

Jenkins and Talia were the crows equal lowest possession gatherers with 9 (Other than Smith who went off in the second quarter), meanwhile we had 8 players with 9 possessions or less (Krak 9, Toump 9, Palmer 8, Schulz 8, Young 8, Trengove 6, Lobbe 5 and Neade 5).

Look forward to a better run with injury next year.

One thing we have missed this year is that competitive pressure for spots within the group.

Is Krak safe for next year? I'm not too sure.

Krak was an elite kick last year but has been a woeful kick all this year, even in the early games. Don't think he stays on the list tbh

Most people see him as a lock but I'm with you, not sure he has much upside? Great comeback story though

If we had Wingard, we probably would have got over the line.

If we had any of Mitchell, Bonner, Colquohon or any other fit player on the list instead of Toumpas, we would have won.

Hopefully the duds and no-hopers on the list spud it up again next week so it's really obvious who we need to trade/delist, and we can get a draft pick.

For positivity:
Lobbe held his own, for the first time in a long while.
Wines and Gray were excellent.
Great mark and first goal from Palmer.
Some good moments from Polec, Krak, Amon.

80 points conceded from turnovers. Game over.

Great to meet Eddie Dingle again. It's been too long and I swear he's grown since I last saw him! I hope your wish comes true Eddie. ;)

Look forward to Bonner playing next week and adding to the promising young players we've uncovered this year.

Best time I ever had at a loss.

Did make arseh*le of self though. No hard feelings, AO lady. Eddies Betts and Dingle thoroughly pwned me and looked after me respectively. Thanks to the latter.

Very very very proud of those boys. Jarman haha. Come of age we'll see. Half a team. Held a rampant stinky shit enterprise full of duds down. **** the crows ******* ****s. Jarman. DBC. Jaspey. Jacko the mad Jackson even Captain our Captain are now making me look forward to nect. Next. Nectar season.

Late in for Jess tha Jessie Palmer.
