Just out of curiosity when someone is given a ground ban how on earth is it enforced?

IANAL, but i think It's not a hard ban, it's more that if you go to a game and get caught doing something the same or similar, they get the police involved and you'll probably get a yuuge fine for tresspassing or something like that

She threw a banana at a black player. I suppose there is a 0.000001% chance that it was coincidental that it was a banana in her bag that was handy to throw and not an orange, apple, coin or brick.

I know what you are saying, but consider this: Racial vilification in Australia is actually a criminal offence. Are you arguing that anyone who commits a crime should not be named, lest it appears that we are bullying them?
Say she is not only banned from the AFL she is also criminally charged, would you then demand that the judge makes a suppression order so she is not named??
Cody Yarran was named last year after an assault at a Fremantle game, did you object to that??...or are you just saying that there are levels of criminal offences that deserve to be named and some that dont?

What I'm saying is we all know what bullying can lead to especially if it's media led ..so consideration needs to be given to that ..as demonstrated by her actions she is clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed ...but if ( god forbid ) she,s driven to harm herself or worse what's the stance then ....good riddance ? She deserved it ? ..that would seem abit extreme for throwing a F@#king banana ....and before anyone says it won't come to that ...how do you know ...what you do know is there is a concentrated effort by govt to stamp out orchestrated bullying because the effects can be devastating .......if find it curious on here and in life in general how new age some people are about some issues ..I.e. racism and at the same time how old testament they are in punishment for other issues ...how typically contradictory,f@#ked up and very typical of human nature

I'm passing judgement on the actions of some idiot who 1) threw something at an opposition player & 2) made a clearly racist gesture.

Remember too this was directed at a player playing in a milestone game.

Frankly I can't believe any football supporter would defend her actions on that last point alone.

5 year ban at the AO and life ban on being able to purchase an AFL membership of any type.

My membership required credit card but could have been anyones and an email. Imagine GA tkts just require money.
On the time thing I agree if an acknowlegment it is wrong is given. Possibly shorter than 5 years, otherwise life ban in principle. In any case should really be a matter for the law.

Some people think they are anonymous when they are in a large crowd. That's a pretty good message that nowadays that is not the case. If I was a Port supporter, I would be very annoyed with her damaging my club's reputation, just as I was when the young Freo supporter assaulted a woman at the Preliminary Final last year.

However, it's only one person and should not reflect on the whole club. If next game a whole group of supporters threw bananas that would be a different situation.

Why not? Eddie kicks goals from the pocket all the time. He is amazing. And then he celebrates, as he should. She would have known this if she followed football in any way.
