So your saying, its too close to call/there isn't enough depth covered in one game....?
Yes, way to read between the lines.:thumbsu:

All I really want ot know is...

Skipworth, Higgins and Cheney... will they have to good av's this year or are they jsut one hit wonders before dying down to a 60av.
My Guess: Higgins Yes, Skipworth Maybe, Cheney Probably not.
AND
Hill, Garlett and Wlaker... is 50av what were going to continue to expect. Because i thought there migth be a bit more in the tank, but they haven't shown it and I am thinking it was jsut preseason showoff whorishness wihle everyone else is dicking around.
Garlett Yes - whorishness if ever I have seen it. Hill/Walker jury is still out - too early to tell.

If i leave it till next week, I can make two trades, so if skip, chen and higgins all continue at this rate, then I miss the train.
The train already left you behind last week :D

Also, my crystal ball only has an 80% success rate.

Un_OC, you seem like a typical noobie supercoach after their first round.

Don't judge either Hill or Suban too early - Suban has an excellent, thumping kick and most players with such a kick score well per disposal in supercoach. And while Hill's 51 may only look modest on paper, Fremantle were smashed and their top scorer managed only 103.

Expect an average of 55 or thereabouts from Suban, and around 65 from Hill.

With regard to Higgins, Skipworth and Cheney, Higgins is a good scorer, and hasn't dipped below 90 in any games including the practise games, so I think an average of 90 or thereabouts is realistic, although his showing on the weekend was indicative of a higher score - he is a very solid choice.

Skipworth is interesting, he is by no means a good scorer per disposal - a player should score more from 30 touches and a goal than 110. Nevertheless he has the AFL body to consistently perform at maybe an average of 80.

Cheney is a rookie who made a good debut. One game in it is way too early to call so I wouldn't be making any kind of move on him.

Here's my advice,

We could all trade Raines for someone that we're all not 100% convinced on this week due to lack of optios for the price, or we can put him on the bench for a week (if you can cover him), cause next week what if you suffer another injury for say 4-8 weeks, then its much much easier trading in a combination of 2 players where you can divide the money any way you wish, and if you dont have an injury next week then thats all good and you do the trade your thinking about this week, but theres definately an advantage holding onto him for a week to see if your trading delimma becomes easier next week should you suffer another injury.

Hold him for a week and see what comes after this round, you wont be any worse off

Haha, Thanks.

I was just brutally bashed by rookies last year.... approximately 3 of my rookies actualyl did anything... 1 played 3 games, went up a bit and then didn't play adn the other two were good. It really pissed me off last year as I couldn't get enough money into the team, this year I don't wan to write it off with 21 weeks still to play.

Next week's problem.

I'm playing Zach Dawson on the paddock :D

Yes i admit it ..i own him !!! Flavour of the month and he'll get some confidence out of last week...plus Adelaide dont even have a fwd so this is his BIG chance lol.

Yeah ok i admit i bght him on a whim and it goes against every piece of common sense there is...BUT ..100 coming up i can feel it in my water.

Raines I fear will be out for more than 4 weeks so I will trade him. He was meant to make money and be upgraded to a keeper (2 trades most Likely).

Option1: Cheney
* will he play consistently for a whole season and with the extra $100000 from the Raines=>Cheney trade will i be able to upgrade him to a gun.
* even playing well this week won't guarantee that.
* will he even play every week - i already have 2 rookies in defence (bench)

Option2: Gilbert
* will he play well enough to allow him to be upgraded to a premium later.
* Saints style may help here.

I think Gilbert's the best chance of me having a regular player in defence and not hoping each week that one of my rookies is selected.

Also Gilbert is the best chance that Raines=>Premium will still only cost 2 trades, so it doesn't feel like wasting a trade.

The water must be shocking up at Sydney. :D

Must be something in the water. I've got him too and look like I may be playing him on the field... Not predicting the 100 pts though, that must be from Bollox's own special substances.

Best advice on this subject right there....

Even if you have to cop a 0 in defense this week (highly doubtful for most), you are still better off waiting.

Yep, like most others, will make a decision on him next week. Raines was my last back, so i will put a rookie on field this week.

If Cheney has another great game, i will downgrade Raines to Cheney and keep the extra 100K spare for an upgrade in the future

This I dont get. Surely, if the teams are announced tonight and you dont have anyone to cover for Raines you risk one of your 'spare' trades to prevent a zero. The object of the game is to maximise your score. Going into the game with a man down is like trying to pull in your trakky dakks. You might score but it wont be what you were hoping for.

cmon..cant u see it ?

I can go with Hill or Dawson on the field for Raines...i;m choosing Dawson lol

Going to try and keep Raines and ride out the storm with my bench players Petrenko, Suban and Hill. (unless this weeks results virtually force me to pick another rookie)

But at that price point of 270 odd k for Raines, he was surely the best in that area. Would be hard to try and bridge the gap to trade up for a gun without Raines in that price point and would certainly be even harder trading off a rookie that starts at 94k.

1. Why isn't Hurn in that list?
2. I would expect most of the people keeping Raines spent all thier cash prior to first lockout so need to raise cash.

i could trade in raines for petter and use the extra $$ to upgrade bartel to gablett, or just have money in the bank to upgrade one of my rookies to a premium.

buttttt. i could leave raines in my side, sub him on the bench, bring petrenko on the feild and put rance as emergency. which is what i have done..

I like your non-panic approach

On further thought, my rookie forwards are all playing so I am thinking of doing an upgrade on Raines once their values increase

Means waiting until round 3-4 but that's when my league starts. Saves me a sideways trade.

I still have 7 defenders playing plus all my premiums + G Ablett as captain so I reckon I can ride the storm out

Yep, not stressing on the Raines issue. Have Petrenko and he looks a real goer. More pressing issues in the midfield with Tuck and Anthony!

Well I had Raines, Stevens and Broughton which means a donut unless I trade one of them. Raines draws the short straw and I'm bringing Houlihan in.
