i could trade in raines for petterd and use the extra $$ to upgrade bartel to gablett, or just have money in the bank to upgrade one of my rookies to a premium.

buttttt. i could leave raines in my side, sub him on the bench, bring petrenko on the feild and put rance as emergency. which is what i have done..

Why did you waste the e-ink to write this then?? The last line is obvious and the only logical solution you have.

slowly accumulate the your "stan cash" and trade you lower/mid priced mid up to mr ablett not jimmy.:thumbsu:

Well i'm in the fortunate position of having both raines and cousins. Hill is already a starter for me. I decided to trade Raines for Cheyne which gave me a bit of cash, now my dilemma is.... what to do with cousins?

I have $650k in the bank. I have enough players on the ground with dangerfield and otten both scoring well last week, just means i will have no emergency. Or i could play just one of dangerfield / otten and upgrade cuz to someone like Boyd / Johnstone / Power in the 500-580 bracket... This option would give me a premium mid and would also leave me with an emergency mid... because i also had liam anthony in my side grrr

Thoughts?

should i downgrade raines for a rookie with suban and dawson on the bench or should i get hurn (i will have 0$ remaining) for raines with suban and dawson on the bench? decisions, decisions!

backline is as follows:

hodge, goddard, drummond, cornes, malceski, raines and pettard

help needed

No need to trade, Dawson on ground, no emergency then wait next week to see who is the best option for Raines trade.

Nice backline btw

yeah you are probably right, now its a case of putting suban on the field and dawson as emerg? I reckon suban might score more if he plays.

Had the same thing, few things went through my mind.

- Downgraded Raines to Cheney
- Pocketed the extra $180,000 to upgrade/downgrade on a player
- Raines may not come back in when fit.
- $280,000 on the bench for 4 - 6 weeks, no deal.
- Cheney is a second year big bodied player.
- Cheney will play most of the year, bigger price rise than Raines.
- Cheney is a small, may get more of the ball than talls such as Rance

So when price rise comes in the money i get from Cheney will be bigger than that of the half game wonder Raines :D

although not sure what to do with Anthony in the midfield. might just leave him for now, so who dominates before i go trading players out left right and centre now, Callan Ward could be on the cards, or young Paddy Dangerfield another option.

First year at S/C so I've probably got it wrong but I'm planning to make a couple of trades next round for players in form now before their prices go up.
Seeing as I'm restricted to two trades a round I don't want to limit my ability to do that by wasting one of those two trades on Raines next week when I believe carrying an injury prone Richmond player now out for weeks is simply carrying dead weight with little chance at any real upside.
I've traded him staight away for Gilbert (tossed up between him and Hurn) and will have two trades I can make next round to hopefully set my team up sweet and not have to make too many more trades, (other then injuries) till towards the latter part of the season.

Just doing the one trade tonight.

I will wait as long as possible to see if Sunday benches are finalised. If Hill gets dropped then I will trade out Raines for Cheney.

If Hill plays then I will wait till next week on what I'm gonan do with Raines.

I just don't want to play with a dounut this weekend thats all.

Next week I'm also most likely going Anthony ---> Rich/Dangerfield.

hold off on that trade and do it the following week, because A) you will find out who the really good rookies are, and B) you should have determined whos proce will go up the most.

Their prices will go up after next week though dude so I have to do that trade next week. :)

Another perspective...

End of round 2 is a very important trade week. If you know your off-loading Raines anyway, do it this week. Raines for Cheney is a good option, I also made this trade. I want 2 trades under my belt pre-round 3. Odds are I wont make 2 next week anyway, but i want the option.

Raines is not a good SC player and probably never will be. Makes errors too often. Cheney will likely achieve the price Raines is at now anyway, allowing you to use the money gained from Raines-->Cheney trade to upgrade Cheney to an elite.

Not to play the devil's advocate here but what if Cheney gets injured this week or before next weeks games? If you bring him in this week for the sake of having a trade up your sleeve that may or may not be needed i dont see the riskvreward worth. I agree holding onto Raines doesn't seem to have much worth but what happens if Petterd (for eg.) scores 120 this week and Cheney scores 30.

Im playing this one ABC each to their own in the end but it seems unecessarily risky.

So would you rather play with a zero in your backline this week if you were relying on Hill to play or do you trade Raines in for Cheney this week?

That's my dilemma for the week.

I stand corrected especially if you have Hentschel :)

Hentschel should return next week and no longer requires a trade, unfortunately all that comes out of him this week is a dissappointing 18.

Hopefully for us Hentschel owners he can bounce back next week and give us an 80+ score, although I must admit his point scoring capabilities are not looking too flashy ATM.

"Forward Trent Hentschel, who is two games into his comeback from a serious knee injury, has been cleared of structural damage to his knee.

Hentschel failed to re-emerge from the half-time break after experiencing discomfort in the same knee he had reconstructed in 2006.

He has swelling and fluid in the joint but was walking around in the rooms after the game and could be okay to play next week."

Hentschel is the first forward I am upgrading, most likely to Roo or Buddy.

Here is my dillema.

I have Raines and want to offload him to Houlihan. The problem is I fall 9k short. Is there any reasonable way that I can get Houlihan in???
Yes, you would have to slightly downgrade another of your players by 9k...

i have to trade raines this week? who should i trade him for? atm i'm thinking cheney is the way to go.

my other defenders (if it influences your suggestion) are goddard, c.cornes, hodge, petrenko, mcphee, houlihan, hill and broughton. i also have $106, 400 in the bank.
