On another note, just finished my last Year 11 exam today which means I've officially started Year 12.
12 years down, 1 to go :)

Not meaning to steal your thunder caloschwaby, but I'm in the exact same boat. Exams finished last Friday, Kickstart began today. Down to business!

Can anyone else not believe how quickly time has gone (especially those of us winding up high school)? Fizz mentioned he made his account in Grade 5 (so I was Grade 6) and I can't believe how different the world was in December 2013 and how long has passed since then

I was a few weeks away from finishing primary school. Tony Abbott was the Prime Minister. The iPhone 5S had just been released. We were playing England in the Ashes and won 5-0.

How time flies

I remember all events of my life this decade in relation to Collingwood's last premiership. Eg. Started high school 2014 - 4 years after 2010.
Joined BigFooty approx. 7 years after 2010.
It helps me keep track of how fast life is flowing I guess? :drunk:

Yeah, I use the same method... oh wait :D
But I sometimes remember the year by who won the flag that year if that counts, like 2010 was the year of the drawn GF. Just gives perspective to how long ago things happened I guess.

In terms of using flags as date markers, I still can't believe how long it has been since the '07 GF - where did those 11 years go?. I remember the whole day so well (like pretty much everything I've ever done - that's a story for another time), and it feels like the players never left. I was in Prep in 2007 - now I'm starting Year 12 - wow!

Last year I was at the club on Open Day and some kids, maybe nine or ten were reading scrapbooks from 2007 (which can be found here: http://www.geelongcats.com.au/club/history/graham-evans-collection). The bloke who was there said to the kids "you wouldn't remember this game would you?" I nearly fell over. I couldn't believe that kids in Grade 4 didn't see us win in 2007. Makes me feel old

Life just keeps getting quicker, doesn't feel like that long ago I was just starting high school (which begins in Year 10 in the NT) and now I'm a year out of Year 12, already working full time and living completely alone, fully started on my adult life.

My mum's a Geelong supporter so I too remember that day well.

I remember 2011 even better :(

What a great day it was! All my family gathered at my aunties house, we watched the game outside. Nice day weather wise, a little cloudy but quite comfortable. Barbecue lunch, various different deserts. Then I ran up and down the street cheering when the siren went at the end. DiamondGuy did you have a similar '07 experience? Not sure there are many other regulars around the FJGD that are Cats fans (there's lionbear, but at the time they were a Lions fan).

Haha my dad went to his first and only GF in 2007...

DiamondGuy was Saints for the longest time, so you’d be hard pressed to find someone here who was a Cats fan around then.

I remember what happened 12 months after that ;)

Didn't know about that. Seems I'm all alone then

So do I. Similar sort of day, except at the end I cried, and cried, and cried, and cried. And now Mum keeps paying me out for it: "you know you were upset after the lost in the Grand Final". Yeah, thanks for reminding me and my Dad. And I was seven. Seven. Of course I cried! I cried after Round 14 2009 as well (which I've never watched in its entirety)

Same. I felt like I knew what I was doing with my life back then too.
A university dropout and a full time job later and I'm still not 100% sure haha.

Still remember in 2016 going nuts in the last 30 seconds of the prelim and my mum and sister crying and ringing family members. Same thing after the gf.

Luke Darcy's commentary at the end of the pf always sticks in my mind.
