So I am basically in tears this morning, I was driving around Ballarat and decided to go into the independent supermarket here Maxi Foods for the first time in probably a year or more and I am blown away by all of the stuff they have that I haven't seen since I moved away from SA. Nippys flavoured milk with that classic straw, Yoyo buscuits (actual Arnott yoyos not what Victorians mistake melting moments for), Fruchocs, the full range of Beerenburg jams and sauces, Bickfords cordials, and most amazingly Golden North bloody ice cream!!! I didn't realise how homesick I was until this morning.

I'm so pissed off about this whole situation, but this is probably the worst part about it. Picking out a player fresh into the team who doesn't have their spot locked down to go and do your dirty work is weak and cowardly, I also don't like the way that the 'leadership group' has been pulled into this, Steve Smith was the Captain and the buck stops with him (I know the other guys could have objected, but I feel like ultimately this is Smith's call)
Smith has tarnished the brand of Australian cricket and I hope he is sent away for a couple of years before he is allowed to try and earn is way back into the team. I don't care if Australia loses games due to his absence, I just want to have a team that I can fully support win, lose or draw.
I was also pretty disappointed in CA's decision today to look into the facts before making a decision, I think that between the vision we have all seen and the presser at the end of the day, it is pretty clear what has gone on here and swift action should have been taken. They are very lucky that this didn't happen during a home series, can you imagine the crowd at the 'G or somewhere the day after this has all gone down.

All this said though, I'm still undecided as to whether I think Smith and the LG should be stood down.
The have to be stood down, honestly I would be looking at banning them for at least 6-12 months. This isn't a grey-area where players are being injected with questionable benefits, this is gameday clear-cut, premeditated cheating.

Not gonna lie, mostly because Smith, Warner and the rest of the Leadership Group are very important players. That said though, I am strongly against what they did and it’s stupid to risk your career just for a little bit of reverse swing.

Stand down the entire leadership group and ban those involved for a few tests.

Everyone involved (Smith, Warner, Bancroft, Lyon, Hazlewood and Starc possibly even Boof) need to be stood down from their leadership positions and sent back to state level until 2019/20 summer (at least) on base wage. None of them should be captain on their return.

It doesn’t matter. To have any of them return into leadership positions would imply the ends justify the means - which is the opposite of the spirit of the game.
I don’t care if we go from world beaters to being utter shit, it’s a matter of doing what’s right and stamping out this behaviour.

I guess we have to wait for CA's review to know exactly what went down and who is really to blame, but I can't see how Smith can possibly return to the captaincy. Either he was a part of a conspiracy to cheat, or he's allowed a culture where cheating is acceptable.
