Happiest to unhappiest.

1. Gold Coast Suns
2. GWS Giants
3. Fremantle Dockers
4. Port Adelaide Power
5. Brisbane Lions
6. Sydney Swans
7. Western Bulldogs
8. Adelaide Crows
9. West Coast Eagles
10. North Melbourne Kangaroos
11. Hawthorn Hawks
12. Richmond Tigers
13. Collingwood Magpies
14. Melbourne Demons
15. Essendon Bombers
16. Carlton Blues
17. St Kilda Saints
GWS good pick. If only for Toby who has been and can be a bit of flog, but he is a seriously good player who punches above his weight as well as anyone.

Going by your scale, this is how I'd have it:

Happy (enough):

Fremantle
GWS

Somewhat Happy:

Adelaide
Essendon
Carlton
Port

Meh:

St Kilda
Bulldogs

Somewhat Unhappy:

Sydney
Gold Coast
West Coast
Melbourne
North Melbourne

Unhappy:

Collingwood
Brisbane

Hell on earth:

Richmond
Hawthorn
My wow reaction for somewhat happy for the Dons and Carlscum. You don't remember do you?

Seems to be quite a common theme with Cats fans regarding the Tigers & Hawks, and I feel the same. They are probably my 2 most hated clubs.

For me, it's more the lack of respect that these supporter groups have for our club than the fact that they have beaten us in Grand Finals.

Only way to shut them up is to beat them when it really counts for once.

One can dream..
Two of my closest friends are avid for the Tigers and Dorks. And they have better footy brains than me. **** this shit sometimes.

My partner goes for Carlton, they're my second team as a result...and I love Cripps, Walsh and Docherty as humans. Couldn't care less about the past or their rabid fan base.. Love Zach Merrett for Essendon, and a lot of my family went for them growing up; same as above for Carlton.

Neither of them have won a flag for 25 years, would prefer a side like that over West Coast, Richmond, Hawthorn, Brisbane, Sydney etc. Can't stand Clarkson as a human, nor Lyon, and the less said about Hardwick the better.

It's my opinion, it doesn't have to align with yours, just because I support the same team as you.

And that post is how BF should be all the time. Nice.

Of course we all HOPE Geelong can do it.

Failing that, I think -

1. Lions-have the best list, and it would be amazing to witness another 3-peat
2. Carlton are certainly in their window, and have enough talent and hunger to do it, ditto Port.
3. Freo, St. Kilda and GWS are like Carlton, and Port, but to a lesser extent.

What I would like to see -

Lions again.

Essendon- my son in law and 2.5 grandsons are mad Bomber fans, so a big soft spot there.

What I would hate to see -

Tigers & Hawks anywhere near it.

So, early days, but a Lions Blues GF is my preseason GF guess.

In reply to your ranking question, most to least favoured-

Lions, Essendon, Freo, Port, Pies, GWS, Crows, Swans, Demons, Dogs, Saints, Blues, NM, GC, WCE, Tigers/Hawks
.

HAPPIEST:
Dockers, Giants, Suns (never won)
Doggies, Saints, North (underdogs, only a few flags)

HAPPY ENOUGH
Brisbane
Sydney
Melbourne

MEH/INDIFFERENCE
Adelaide
Port
West Coast
Essendon

YEAH NAH
Hawthorn - at least it would be somewhat funny if they ended up lapping "endless rebuild" teams like Carlton
Carlton
Collingwood

DON'T HAVE TO CONSIDER HOW I FEEL BECAUSE IT WON'T HAPPEN
Richmond

GWS would be top of the chart for me along with the Saints as long as Lyon doesn’t go full defence with the game plan again.

Strangely I don’t mind if the Hawks go again as I really enjoyed watching the way they went about it last year. Always enjoyed the rivalry as well. Feel free to stone me to death on this one.

Swans as they were my second side when I was living in Sydney.

North only get by due to a family connection.

Don’t care either way about Bombers, Dockers, Suns, Lions, Eagles, and Bulldogs.

Tigers and Demons not a fan of.

Living in SA couldn’t bear the thought of either the Power or the Crows winning one.

Pies and Blues can go on the back burner forever, insufferable teams with supporters that match.

Who does the 0.5 grandson support?

Who does the 0.5 grandson support?
Knowing his dad and paternal grandpa, and their extremely strong allegiance to Essendon, my daughter, a Cats fan, will not get him into Geelong. But they do live in Queenscliff, so a glimmer of hope.

How much of our bonhomie, esprit de corps etc.. (needed to reach my quota this week ;)) is because our team's default is winning.

We're able to appreciate the finer nuances of the game because we're not existentially threatened to win..

Same. More like I couldn't care less with the others. I haven't been able to force myself to read the Most Heartbreaking Loss thread yet..
Yeah at the end of the day I'm not losing any sleep over any team which may or may not win the premiership. It's only a game.

Don't have a dislike for any clubs, just a few Tiger trolls who I'd rather them follow soccer or rugby.... so in answer to your question, I'd have my list in order of lack of flag success. So yeah, Dockers with no flags in 30 years would be equal number one with the Saints who joined VFL in 1897 and 'wow' that's a long time for only one flag and also, the Saints are the best side I've seen not win a flag back in 2009 against the mighty Cats and if there was ever a player that bled for his club and deserved a flag then that guy would be Nick Riewoldt.
If you dont dislike clubs then how do you justify liking geelong? Like and dislike in a competition of zero sum gain is a mirror isnt it? How does one exist without the other?

My love for geelong is magnified by the fact i pretty much have reasons to hate every other club. That hate is not equal. My hatred of hawks, eagles, bombers trumps all others. But there is hate for every other club for some reason or another. If i didnt hate the clubs we were playing my desperation for beating them would be much less so.

Nope I don't dislike any clubs, I have no reason to, I just happen to love Aussie Rules. In fact, there would be anywhere from 2 to 6 players I really like from each individual club in the AFL. Sammy Mitchell for a time was my favourite non-Geelong player, now I watch Hawthorn with great interest coz I always felt Sam would make a gun coach such is his high football IQ across all facets of the game. I barrack for Cats coz my dad did, mind you Geelong has been noted over the decades as a club and team that plays an attractive brand of football, so I guess I would've started barracking for them anyway. But in answer to your query, NO you don't have to hate opposing teams/clubs, just wanna watch good footy and hope we win. I guess if I had one hate and that is a coach that has his team play unattractive, boring and overly defensive football.

It doesn’t matter who wins if Geelongstrong don’t.
So pick whoever you want, there is always next year and a premiership only lasts 12 months
We need to be friends with every supporter ……….. Bulllshit""???????????

FEEL HAPPY FOR THEIR FANS
Saints: As long as it's not at the expense of Geelong.

TO A LESSER EXTENT
Dogs: Can't begrudge fans of a footy club that has lacked success.
GWS: A real need for footy to expand in this region more so than the tacky plasticky GC.
Brisbane: Used to be in first category but after how their fans carried on last year, the soft spot I have for them has almost vanished
Port: A soft spot for Ken Hinkley, their fans are ferals though who I have no sympathy for.

MEH
Bitchmond: Although their recent bottom dwelling top draft pick assisted purple patch has given some of their fans the gall to run their mouth, polluting BF with their mind fckd garbage and are now starting to annoy me like pesky flies that they are.
Demons: Squeaky voiced Gary Lyons rubs me the wrong way but I feel mostly indifferent about this club and their fans.

ANNOYED:
North: Carey and their fans in the late 90s still get up my nose.
Fremantle: Purple haze Perthlings crying about Vic bias all the time. Shut up already and start your own competition if you don't like it.
Adelaide: Their success in the late 90s still irritates me, especially 'cos Blighty accomplished what he couldn't at Geelong
Sydney: Never ending academy assisted leg ups, enough said.

STROPPY:
Maybloomers: No explanation necessary obviously.
WC: State side assisted 90s success.
Collingwood: Big 4 yawn
Carlton: Big 4 yawn
Essendon: Too many flogs that support them.
GC: Plastic rubbish assisted by Dimwitrou to lure another club's top tier talent. Awful club colours that are an eye sore. Unnecessary franchise in an area that's overrated in regards to growing the game. If it were up to me I'd fold this mess and start afresh with a new franchise somewhere else.
