They're a funny club the Pies. Obviously got lots of support and money, but are really struggling on-field. Malthouse has been there 6 years, with only 2 years being good.

2006 is make or break for Malthouse.

Yes Struggling is an understatement. They have had 5 bottom four finishes in the last 8 years. This is the most of any team! Fremantle is next worst on 4.

Most hyped up do nothing club of all time. One premiership in 16 seasons, this from what scuttlebutt at the ‘Bob Lexus Rose’ centre would have you believe is the biggest and best club in the land.

Let’s have a look at what has been achieved under the McGuire/Malthouse reign of terror.

Firstly the appointment of Malthouse, described by McGuire as the ‘Best coach in the land’, hmmm Matthews and Sheedy must have been absent that day, and for that matter Pagan. What has Malthouse achieved?? Two grand final loses, and before you ferals start going on about him taking you to two GF’s, remembers second place is the first LOSER! And who remembers who came second anyway, anyone know who Cathy Freeman beat at the 2000 Games??

Then the recruits of the century, 18 Clokes and 15 Shaws. They say absolute power corrupts absolutely, and nothing could be more true of this club. Control is in the hands of too few, and this club is disintegrating because of it. All the flash gyms and Bob Lexus Rose Centres in the world couldn’t cover that up.

Then there was woewoedin, geez that one just made me laugh and laugh.

We all know McGuire got in to the position much the same way as George W got in over in the States and the similarities don’t end there. Neil Balme is an excellent Dic Cheney, and the recruiting department down there is in much the same quagmire as Bush is in Iraq. As for the financials, anyone know what the biggest white elephant of all time is worth? That is the Bob Lexus Rose Centre??

It’s time for Collingwood people to have a good look at themselves, stop calling a spade a shovel and vote with their feet. Get rid of the current axis of evil that is McGuire, Malthouse and Balme and get back some respect.

It’s really simple. All this failure and you still start threads. You can attribute it to Eddie, TFS, Channel 9, The AFL, Solar Flares, Acid left over from the early 70’s or your own neurosis but it has always been like this.

Boring. They lack 'pizzazz' and crumble under pressure. Had two grand finals to prove themselves (one which they should have won and one which they were supposed to win). They never delivered.

Most of their fans are too uneducated to have a proper discussion with.

But seriously Collingwood can make a case for being the most successful club for the longest time, headed the premiership table for over half a century, longer than the other 15 clubs put together, that is why they are so hated, they are despised over so many generations it has become a part of the collective psyche of Australia, most people have forgotten why they are so despised, it is an almost unconscious hatred passed down from one generation to another. Essendon and Carlton have not really put a dent in that because they have been so even and usually shared the leadership of the premiership table, so there is no standout to despise as there was with Collingwood, I think they are the club we all secretly wish our club was, with one proviso... a lot more recent success

It is quite an anomaly that Collingwood only play 4 games outside Victoria, yet Carlton consistently play 5. Carlton do not sell their games, so either the AFL is doing Collingwood a favour, or screwing Carlton.
