Yer martin will be starting, i havent really positioned what rookies will start, have just put them in my team. I think O'Keefe will start well, I think hamish will have an even better 2010 and score very well. Will be changing wojo to a different mid priced after the NAB cup.

Now onto your team.
Your backs, Waite Hunt Ladson and McGuire all in the same defence? very risky id try and limit it to 2 out of the 4, having all 4 starting is a risk.

Your mids, I like it, its a strong point, should score well for you.

Your rucks, downgrade sandilands to jolly/hmac/tippet, someone cheaper use the money to bring in charman/Warnock as a 4th ruck, then use spare to upgrade one of the 4 defenders,

Your forwards, I like it, should also score well for you.

Revised team again:
BACKS goddard hodge cornes waite wojo henderson mcguire ( slattery trengove)

MIDS: ablett Sewell Delidio Hill trengove martin (cunnington morabito)

RUCKS: McIntosh Hille (charman warnock)

DEFENCE: riewoldt higgins pav roughead hall ziebell rohan (black, kerr)

I just think Waite is terrific value.. There isn't much around Hunt/Ladson to about 400k worth looking at and Maguire can just chop and change with Sheppard/Pete Davis. I'm not going to bother with a 4th ruckmen, Either of my starting ruckmen should be playing all or 95% of the year..

Deledio annoyed me last year, got tagged, went missing completely.. especially during the 1st qtr. I just don't think Higgins is worth his price this year. Great player just a bit overpriced.

Any thoughts on my team would be appreciated.

BACKS: Newman, Enright, Duffield, Hodge, Waite, Ladson, Hunt
EMG: Farmer & H Shepperd

MIDS: Ablett, Hayes, Goddard, Trengove, Martin, Morabito
EMG: R Healey & Bastinac

RUCK: Kreuzer & Hille
EMG: Warnock & Lobbe

FOR: Goodes, Didak, Pavlich, Franklin, Ziebell, Henderson, Watts
EMG: Gumbleton & Markovic

Also any opinions on the better trio out of:

Sandilands, Gilbee, Scully
or
Hille, Hunt, Hayes

i'm leaning towards changing to option 1, but then my midfield becomes very dependant on rookies. Any suggestions?

Lastly, reports i've heard are saying that Gary Rohan wont see much senior footy this year. Anyone else hearing this? If true, i'd be wary picking him as the 7th forward.

Duffield is expensive, 3 rookies mids is excessive. Fwds ok maybe a bit pricey particularly Franklin is missing round 1 and a 0 awaits.. Thoughts on my team junior?

Haselby?? Not sure on that one...
Wojo not a great scorer
Henderson unproven
O'Keefe not until later on in the season
Surely Cunnington will be swapped for Martin..
Can HMac do it again??

My old team
Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waite, Hunt, Ladson, Macguire (Sheppard,P Davis

Dal, Selwood, Swan, Cooney, Trengrove, Martin (Shuey, Bastanic)

Jolly, Hille (Trengrove, 83k)

Riewoldt, Pavlich, J Brown, Hall, Dangerfield, Ziebell, Wona(Tapscott,Podsa)

My revised team
Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waite, Hunt, Ladson, Macguire (Sheppard,P Davis

Dal, Ablett, Swan, Cooney, Trengrove, Martin (Shuey, Bastanic)

Sandilands, Hille (Trengrove, 83k)

Riewoldt, Pavlich, LeCras, Giansiracusa, Dangerfield, Ziebell, Wona (Tapscott,Podsa)

Very strong midfield, should easily cover any early problems your rookie mids have at the start. Riewoldt and Pavlich together is strong, they will require decent backup from LeCras and Gia who can be a bit up and down! Goddard will be interesting to see if he emulates his efforts last season. Also think u might be a backman light with Waite, Hunt, Ladson & McGuire all with question marks over them. Best of luck with it. Whats your thoughts on my side???

My rough side

Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Waite, Hunt, Ladson, Macguire (Sheppard,P Davis

Dal, Selwood, Swan, Cooney, Trengrove, Martin (Shuey, Bastanic)

Jolly, Hille (Trengrove, 83k)

Riewoldt, Pavlich, J Brown, Hall, Dangerfield, Ziebell, Wona(Tapscott,Podsa)

211.4k left

I don't mind the 2 rookie mids.. providing there is a bit of Otten/Rich from last year..

Any feedback is handy

Maguire in the starting 22 is a risk i wouldn't be taking. Otherwise it seems like a fairly solid team. Only other thing i would say is that it doesn't look like you're using many multi position players, could be handy to get a multi position player as your 8th mid & as your 9th forward. Obviously have to wait for the NAB cup to finish to know who they will be.

DEF

Scotland, Hodge, Gilbee, Birchall, Kennelly, Suban, Schoenmaker (Sheppard & Moore)

MID

Ablett, Cooney, Mclean, Kerr, Masten, Trengove (Morabito & Dustin Martin)

RUCKS

Kreuzer, Naitanui (Warnock & Gawn)

FOR

Pavlich, Higgins, Franklin, Rioli, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Ziebell (Watts & Dennis-Lane)

Happy with the team balance. Might not have enough big scorers in my team but. Taking a risk with Kerr and Mclean in the middle but their training reports have been strong.

I like it alot mate, although, i think you need to upgrade your 3rd ruckman, or try and slot Tippett into your fwd line as a ruck back-up. If Hille breaks down, your stuffed. The FWD line looks stacked, but i wonder if you could downgrade one the the big 3 (Pav, Roo or Buddy) to upgrade Kerr in the midfield.

My Team:

I am thinking of trading Sidebottom for Morabito for some cash

And then trading Mark Blake for a Sandilands or buying a better backman or Forward

Well just work out what you think the difference will be in terms of averages.

Sidebottom 75
Blake 65

VS

Morabito 60
Sandilands 100

with both sidebottom and blake could score 30 or 40's in some games..

while sandilands can score 140 +
More scoring potential with the Sandilands/Morabito combination.

Duuude..... Spend that cash!!!! :D >$100k in the bank leaves you nearly 50 SC points down (Statistically speaking).

Good backs. But don't like the look of Drum that much and Gilbee always lets you down. Just doesn't deliver like you know he should.

Mids are short on top notch quality. Too many middle of the road players. I like Dalziell but Ward, Bourgoyne & Palmer are probably not the best options out there. Prismall is to pricey for his likely return IMO.

Rucks are good. But Charman's probably too expensive to be sitting on the bench?

Fwds look OK but I wouldn't rely on Gumby. thomas will let you down every thime and Higgins won't be as free running as he was last year.

Good backline... Maybe Macdonald is a risk???

3 rookies in the mids??? problems there.

Great rucks but two premiums?? that's wasted coin I think.

Fwds ok but Chappy will stiff you for at least 4 games this year. Maybe Higgins is a bit over priced for what he'll give you back???

10!!! I rate this team highly. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Maybe harvey is a bit questionable and Bob Murphy's history with injuries is not good but that's the nature of the game. Having 3 Geelong mids might be a rpblem too but now I'm just being picky. Waite maybe a bit suss too but still, all personal choice at this stage.

Reserves I'm assuming will be finalised before rd 1?? Otherwise, top notch team.

Not sure about 3 cats in the midfield
And rob murphy and waite in the forward line mabye find a replacement

Its so hard not to pick your own players! Heres mine:

Backs

Josh Drummond, Corey Enright, Luke Hodge, Ryan Schoenmakers
Tom Gillies, Matt Maguire, Ashley McGrath, Tadgh Kennelly, Nick Suban

Mids

Dane Swan, Joel Selwood, Aaron Davey, Daniel kerr, Andrew Walker
Rhys Palmer, John McCarthy, Anthony Morabito

Rucks

Mitch Clark, Darren Jolly, Wade Skipper, Matthew Lobbe

Forwards

Adam Goodes, Brendan Fevola, Daniel Bradshaw, Paul Medurst,
Trent Hentschel, Jarrad Grant, John Butcher, Phil Davis, Scott Gumbleton

I figure the midfield should always be stacked with talent, especially considering this year you can transfer players between positions. My forward line is a bit risky considering 3 were under injury clouds last year, but sometimes in this game luck plays a massive part.

I've put Ablett, Bartel and Corey in my midfield because Ablett is the best player in the AFL (Over the past 59 games he has played he has scored between 100-80 57 times), Bartel is very consistent (Over the past 63 games he has played he has scored between 100-80, 52 times.) And as for Corey he is the most consistent player in SC (Over the past 64 games he has played he has scored between 100-80 59 times). Robert Murphy is 100% fit and ready to get back to his 2008 form and as for Waite only got him in because i think he will be a bit of a cash cow i hope. Thanks for your responses CaptainChardonnay and russea.

Morabito is the Daniel Rich of the 09 Draft. He is ready to go. Sidey will play around half the games I'm prediciting. Morabito may only be rested a couple of times. Stick with him.

Your backline is very weak.
Drummond - Injury prone
Maguire/Gillies - game time..?
McGrath - inconsistent

I'd trade Suban for a rookie and upgrade McGrath.

Midfield is not great.
Davey won't improve much on last year and tapered off towards the end of the year.
Palmer may not line up till round 4-5
Walker has managed 13 games in two years.

Rucks are great.

Goodes and Fevola are the only two good things about your forward line.

Bradshaw - Injured
Medhurst - could be a bargain, could be a dud.. 50/50
Hentschel is injury prone
Grant and Butcher - will they even play
Gumbleton - Injury prone.

You must have alot of money left over..?????

I'd say back to the drawing board..

Work around these players.

Backs
Drummond, Enright, Hodge

Midfield
Swan, Selwood, D.Martin - play one rookie in your starting 22

Rucks are great.

Forwards
Goodes, Fevola, Franklin - he's suspended round 1 - but have a bench player to cover him.

Try again and re post.
Happy to help where i can..

interesting.

personally i wouldn't have a few of those players in there.

kerr, get rid of him. upgrade or downgrade
no scully, trengove??
defence is long, but injury plagued.. there's got to be some rookie defenders right???
forwards have a long tail... fev, obviously you like rollercoaster rides.
and jolly may not have the usual amount of stoppages at collingwood compared to sydney's game plan....

ok then, my team version i've lost count already........
backs, enright, hodge, waite, newman, hunt, ladson, sheppard, em moore and webberley

mids, ablett, pendlebury, vince, mclean, trengove, martin, em scully and lucas

rucks, sandilands, hille, em warnock, trengove

fwds, riewoldt, harvey, sylvia, goodes, dangerfield, ziebell, black, em tapscott and davis.

any thoughts greatly appreciated.
