Midfield is far too top heavy. You're going to miss out on a bunch of rookies to get you money, plus how do you plan on bringing in players like Swan, Murphy, Dal Santo, Pendlebury? These guys are the big guns everybody else will have and if you want them, you're going to have to do a lot of backwards trading.

In my opinion, send Zaharakis to the forward line, dump Barlow and Gibbs for rookies and use the money to grab some better defenders and forwards.

Backs look good nice an solid

Mids Solid nice change up with Mitchell and Ziebell good contrast to most teams

Forwards Varcoe has a foot stress fracture and is going to miss the early part of the season

Overall a nice solid team

Love the backline, just monitor Deledio's hamstring injury over the break and also keep in mind Buntine wasnt named in Sheedy's starting 22.

Best midfield advice is to think of the 6 players you would like to get if there was no salary cap and if blokes like Priddis and Mitchell and Ziebell arent there, then dont pick them. You should try to grab as many of the midfielders that will be in the Top 10 at the end of the year as possible. Someone like Ziebell is definitely on the improve, but he is taking up a spot you could use to upgrade to Swan, Pendlebury, Murphy at the end of the year.

Maric in the ruck? I suggest spend the money for Cox, he is reliable as hell, and its always pretty safe that if he does get injured or decline in form, it'll affect just about everybody else. If Maric spuds it up or gets injured, chances are everybody else will cruise past you while you have to blow a trade replacing him.

Sidebottom and Riewoldt are the only two I would query in your forward line. Are there perhaps better midfield forward options than Sidebottom? Good player absolutely, but Collingwood has a powerful midfield and he isnt guaranteed good time in the middle. Dustin Martin is a much better option IMO. Jack Riewoldt is fine if you want to take the risk, keep in mind Richmond want to share the ball around, and if Jack isnt getting all the ball then his score will decline unless he spends some time on the ball. Key forwards are generally poor SC scorers. Grab Jack's cousin Nick.

Good team. A few risks in the back line but it's helped you pad out the fwd line nicely. I think Sandi is alos over priced and a huge risk but you know he can deliver.

Hey dude. To answer your concerns;
-I would downgrade one of your premium midfielders (probably Selwood, as he may need a little time adjusting to being captain) to McDonald, and upgrade Rowe to a player like Kruezer or McIntosh.

-I'm not sure about Hayes, the new coach has stated he'll be given limited game time in the NAB Cup. He'll probably need a couple games to be at his best. Barlow should be a serious consideration. Of course this will depend on how he goes in NAB cup.

-Your Defender rookies seem ok. Sierakowsi may play a handful of games. Try to get Brandon Ellis in there.

Here's my second go:

I think I've got a good amount in the bank for the first upgrade/or LTI trade. Potentially a loaded forward line. Risks aplenty in the backline, surely Grimes is due for some luck surely (right?), but for such a young player, the nature of his injuries (groin/hip/hamstring) is concerning. Nothing about Lake over the preseason is cause for concern and, with Markovic around, he'll hopefully have a chance to be freed up somewhat.

Love everything I'm hearing about Kerridge and, given Adelaide's midfield last year, I think he'll have every chance to earn a spot early. Probably wouldn't mind a few mor dual position activations, but, at this stage, I'm pretty happy with the side.[/QUOTE]

Ok im just going to lay this out there, you seriously need to consider changing the structure of your team.

In my opinion Ablett and Barlow are no were near the fire power you need in the mids, you need to find a spot for at least one, possibly 2 guns to start off the season.

Also im huge fans of the cox. sandi ruck combo, had it for the past 3 years but this year they are so overpriced and there are so many good rucks coming through, it may be worth going with a cheaper ruck and 3 rookies or keep one of those and get a cheaper ruck.

McDonald is 35 and may find himslf in a red vest more often than not.

Will Goldstein hold his value?

I don't think Fyfe will hold his value but will probably still make the top 10 at the end of the year.

Cheers mate. I'm weighing up the Sylvia option at the moment. I'm pretty keen on Rioli. I reckon he's in for a big year as long as his body holds up. It's a risk I'm willing to take at the moment. I've made a few changes and will post my side again soon.
