Looks like a farily solid team mate although you have quite a few players i have zero interest in like Naitanui, Armitage, Ablett, Ziebell, Drum, Carazzo but that is just me. I must say i like the choice of Suckling.

Looks like you've got a pretty even balance and will score quite similar over backs, mids and forwards with your forward line likely to score the stongest. Forwards look brilliant i must say although Ziebell and Higgins are injury prone and Dangerfield has had a couple of problems with his knee(or hammy?) of late - so I definitely wouldn't be considering starting a rookie there (Which you obviously haven't so good to see).

All rookie choices fairly solid at this stage...

Good team overall.

Havnt seen much love for M.Clark on this thread. Is there something that im missing.

M. Clark is a gun. You're not missing anything. With charman injured (?) there's even less risk of him competing with another ruck. (Leuneberger going to take points away? Doubtful...)

Enright, Duffield, Bock, Cornes, Hodge, Malceski, Trengove
(Webberley, Silvagni)

Montagna, Boyd, Sewell, Kornes, Martin, Barlow
(Banner, Shuey)

Sandilands, Naitanui
(Warnock, Lobbe)

Riewoldt, Pavlich, Giansiracusa, Franklin, Ziebell, Ballantyne, Rockliff
(Davis, Podsladly)

Thoughts please?

Enright and Duffield are locks, although the verdict is out on Duffield as to whether he can go on with it after his breakout season. Bock shouldn't be looked at due to an interrupted pre season. Cornes is a no. He is playing permanent CHB and is over priced. Much more value in Heathy Shaw with increased midfeild rotations at the woods. Trengove starting is also a no. Try squeeze in Josh Hunt, he is only 169k and is a lock in Geelongs defence. You back emg are weak too.

Montagna is a gun, but he was only captain material last year. Swan and Bertel have been skippers for afew years now, s maybe look to them instead for some assurity. K. Cornes is also a bit iffy, yes hes a gun, but I think there are better options at his price range. Good MID rookies though.

Sandi is a lock. Keep an eye on Nic Nat, Hille represents as much value.

Forward line is good, although Ballantyne has proved anything just year, watch him closely.

Good foundations though. should be able to build a good team around that...

No to all of these players in bold. Drummond, Judd and Kerr are all not DT players. Judd is suspended for the first 3 rounds as well. Williams doesn't get much stats other than when he shoots for goal - not a DT player. Will Browne get games this year for the Tiges? I havn't heard much about him this year so I'd go Lobbe or Trengove ahead of him. Nanson and Carlisle who and who? Brown and Scarlett simply put no.

Not a bad team at all. Had Sylvia in my initial team but for some reason I think Melbourne and therefore most of it's midfield might have a slow start to the year. Also think the same of Carlton and for that reason i have Gibbs and Sylvia as possible upgrade targets later in the season.

Possibly start with two rookies in the mids?? Alot of great mid rookies around.

Don't be fooled by Malceski's NAB form, no Shaw and Kennelly fwd tagged so was used in the sweeper role, don't think he'll play it again.

Malceski averaged 87 over 23 rounds in 2007. He hasn't been the same player post a knee reco in 08. According to Sydney he's moving and kicking like he did pre knee, which is the first time this has been suggested.

I think he's well worth a spot. Risk, but high reward.

Malceski is a tough one but I agree with you.

But. Yes, he averaged 87 in 2007, but over the following two years he has been horrible.

So not sure whether Malceski, or Dempsey, or the cheaper players in kennelly, ladson, hunt, etc

Possibly risky having Kennelly, Ladson and Waters all in the same team. With the shortage of rookie backs I would want a more assured and durable backline.

Use some of your leftover cash to upgrade Armitage/ Masten. Id trade Armitage as his spot in the best 22 every week is not assured. Masten is not a good dreamteamer but is easily in West Coast's best 22.

I think O Keefe is slightly overpriced in a midfield where he should now see the number one tag each week with Goodes playing as a CHF

Thoughts on my team would be great.

Pretty solid team mate. It is actually very similar to mine!

I rate your backs, 4 great keeps and 3 cash cows who could even possibly become keepers.

Mids are good, but McVeigh is a big risk.

I think Clark may have his scoring impacted on by Charman and the burger, plus he has said he dosn't want to be a ruckman, maybe some coin could be freed up by changing him to tippett.

Add that coin onto your $73,900 and you will have alot of money to upgrade McVeigh, or even Buddy for Pav/O'Keefe.

Good forward line too.

This is actually one of the few teams i've looked at and really thought it was hard to beat, well done!

cheers mate. thanks for the positive feedback.
trying to decide who to take out of McVeigh, Masten and Armitage. its a tough one.

btw with armitage, is he a durable footy player? i know that he only played the 3 games for the saints last year but what about him in the vfl? did he play a consistent run of games? Whats his injury history like?

Please tell me what you think :thumbsu:

Bomber fan you are. I'd get rid of Williams and Stevens = mid range old DT players with questionable upside. If you are looking at mid range, look at more guys like Dangerfield which havent peaked yet.

Expect to change some of your rookies when R1 Teams announced.

My team so far, not happy with lack of depth in backs

Back
Goddard, Hodge, Carlisle, Kennelly, J Smith (Stkilda), B Sheppard (West coast), J Webberly (Rich) A Silvagni (Freo)

Mids,
Swan, Ablett, Hayes, Gibbs, Boak, Cotchin, Scully, Trengrove

Rucks,
Natanui, Warnock, Vickery, Ace Cordy

Forwards
Riewolt, J Brown, Higgins, Franklin, Porplyzia, Dangerfield, J Watts, Troy Taylor, Podsiadley

Left over $48,400

I think it has a good mix of proven points getters and players i expect to improve, still not happy with the backs but will try and work on that, any suggestion please help.
