C'mon mate, you are the one who posted your team allowing others to comment on it. Just because he thinks that Rockliff, Medhurst, Ball, Kennelly etc are bad picks it doesn't make it true and just because you think they are good picks doesn't make it true either mate. Do you think that just because the BF public seem to think that they are good picks they must in-fact be that?

Mate if you offer up your team I say be prepared to take any criticism that comes your way, no matter how mis-informed you believe it to be.

Ok my truthful opinion:

Your backline has a few injury concerns. Beau Waters, Kennelly and Hodge have been injury prone in the past and your bench may not offer much support. I am in favour of putting a seasoned player like a Maguire/Waters on the bench even though they have injury issues, such is my animosity towards rookies.

Nice midfield although i personally like Trengrove because i believe him to offer more security than Banner and Shuey even though they are looking like making more cash.

*This is just my perogative with rookies, i don't follow underage footy and prefer to sacrifice some scoring potential for what i believe to be security in the best 22. I'm of the belief that rookies are incredibly fragile and until they play an actual AFL game/multiple AFL games (not just Nab cup) you have no idea how they are going to go irrespective of their efforts in lower grades.*

A small bit of risk with the rookies and Ball but i think it is easily justified and you have good scoring potential there.

Hate your rucks with a passion, but that is just my opinion on the particular players.

Forward line - Gray, Dangerfield, Rockliff, Hithcock, Gumbleton? I do not like the look of that. Has scoring potential but very little security in my mind. Personally, i would try to make it a preferance to trade out as many of these players as quick as possible if you are inclined to keep them in your starting team. All seemingly have potential (but I don't like Gray, Hitchcock or Gumbleton) but lots of injury and 'team security' issues.

Overall it just doesn't scream out value to me. It is clearly generic and what i would consider to be a 'poor generic team'. However, what I think should mean absolutely nothing to you as what you think means nothing to me.

What anyone thinks should mean nothing to you, as long as you like your team. I won't suggest any changes but i will say i think it is cr*p, and you are completely entitled to say that my opinion is cr*p back to me. Last year i picked Duffield, Swallow and Geary from the start despite several people from here opposing those selections....so what BF thinks truly means nothing, all that matters is what you think.

If you think that is the best team then go for it mate:thumbsu:, don't let anyone like me sway you.

I agree. My team is pretty shit. Like seriously who am i to think Gray is in Ports best 22 wishful thinking it is really. Likewise Dangerfield. And i agree that Trengrove has much better job security then though Melbourne rotate players almost every week unlike Port and that Trengrove is about 50K more.

you had swallow even though he was named as an emergency:eek:
very brave:thumbsu:
Could have very very easily been very very stupid though. That was really a huge deal of luck that pick, but because i was starting only 1 rookie on the field in Rich i felt it was just acceptable.

RE: Hannabal, i think alot of people inlucidng me are in the habit of including the extra 'r'. Will try hard to stop it.

That's the spirit, you obviously have big faith in your team. That is a good sign:thumbsu: although i don't appreciate the sarcasm;).

EDIT: I will clarify though, i mentioned Gray and Dangerfield because of injury concerns not security in the team.

Goddard - Hodge - H.Shaw - Mackie - Dempsey - Malceski - Hunt
Bartel - Selwood - Ball - M.McVeigh - Martin - Barlow
Sandilands - Naitanui
Riewoldt - Higgins - Giansiracusa - Franklin - Tippett - Ziebell - Dangerfield

Rookies picked next week.
Approx $80,000 left

Why so confident ???

Chris Connolly came out in the off season and said that Scully and Trengove won't play 22
He won't play 22, Bailey likes to rest young kids every couple of games. At the most he will play 20 games like morton in his debut year and at the least he will play 15.

Seems like there is plenty of bad advice going around.

All the pros like to keep to themselves?

You'll never find great advice in this thread. There really isn't much to go on about, except for structures. All the other talk is swap player X for Player Y, etc.

Backs: Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Shaw, Dempsey, Kennelly, Waters (Maguire, Silvagni)

Mids: Bartel, Boyd, Stanton, Robinson, Trengove, Martin (Barlow, Shuey)

Rucks: Sandilands, Tippett (Skipper, McCauley)

Forwards: Riewoldt, Higgins, Giansiracusa, Gray, Hall, Warren, Dangerfield (Rockliff, Hitchcock)

What are your thoughts. Did a bit of chop and changing.
Managed to fit Goddard in.

I have 19,400 left in the bank so I have room to move. Tell me what you think

Rate my team thread = Does my team have all the BF hyped players?

This is my first year here at BF. I reckon the "BF hype" players get a bad rap. What I can see is that people put up a player and argue the case for. Others come in to shoot it down. If the player stands scrutiny he becomes a "BF hype" player. Assuming this site isn't filled with a pack of morons BF hype deserves respect.

Don't get me wrong, there are goods ones, even have them in my team. Some hype are definitely justified. It's the smokies that don't get enough respect in this thread.

Hey champions ... would appreciate some tips/ thoughts/ advice on my team:

Def: Carrazzo, Hodge, H. Shaw, Mackie, Malceski, Hunt, Waters (Webberley, Silvagni)
Mid: Gibbs, Boyd, Selwood, Boak, Masten, Martin (Barlow, L. Jetta)
Rucks: Sandilands, Naitanui (Skipper, Trengove)
Forw: N. Riewoldt, Pavlich, B. Harvey, Gia, Medhurst, Mayne, Rohan (Dennis-Lane, Stewart)

Got $23,300 left over ... considering punting Harvey and Rohan and bringing in Hall and J. Westhoff

Would love to find a way to get rid of Waters from the backline

Would also like to get rid of one of the Mids kids on the bench, put Martin on the pine and bolster my starting mid

Any help ... bring it! Cheers in advance!

id take out dempsey and put ladson in.
medhurst if he gets mid time then good pick up.
ball will avg around 80-90.
i like the pick of clarke but id rather go safe and go the big man sandilands
and i assume you already know that buddy wont play round1. good looking team tho

why would you swap dempsey with ladson? dempsey is by far the more in form player.
