Thoughts guys?

Thanks for the feedback. :thumbsu:

I just can't bring myself to get rid of either Robinson or Masten, as I think they're both likely to increase my 15+ ppg. While neither might end up keeper (hoping Masten will), I'm hoping they increase enough to be an easy upgrade to a fallen gun.

That said, I agree that I'm not sold on Goddard and Harvey in the midfield. Only reason they are there is because of the multi-positional substitution but don't really think it's worth it.

Have shuffled my team about by moving Goddard to defence for Carrazzo, Harvey to the forward line for O'Keefe and Trengrove down to Banner. Have brought in Gablett and Ball into the midfield.

Okay, go.

Like the forwards, rucks and mids.

On the backs, there's no way I'd personally go in with 4 risky players. The lack of decent emergencies and upgrade options means it'll likely come back and bite you on the arse.

The only way I'd consider it is if I had a back/mid in the midfield to provide some cover in case one of Hodge/Ladson went down but even then think you'd be wise to upgrade one of your bottom 4 (Hunt or Kennelly for mine).

I'd personally downgrade one of your forward premiums to Hall to finance the upgrade.

So maybe Gia > Hall? That wouldn't be such a bad swap anyway, but it might pay off to have more stability in my backline..
Even O'Keefe> Hall as he's been a slow starter in the past

Depends on how much you have in the bank, really. I don't think there's much value below 360k in defence. If you've got enough money in the bank, Gia to Hall could still present you with some enticing upgrade options in defence.

Unless of course you disagree with me and see some genuine value <360k.

Mate if you back your mid pricers to improve greatly, don't listen to what others have to say. I mean you can take it in and all, but if you genuinely believe they will improve enough to be a keeper then go for it. People last year would have bagged you for having Swallow, Vince, Duffield, from the very start. And look how that turned out. Gold. Personally I'm not sure on Robbo but all of your other mid pricers there definitely have the potential to turn into keepers. I think you are a genuine premium short in the mids, but if that's the structure you're going for do it. Ball could turn out to be one of the best picks this year.

Its like looking at my own lineup. I bet like me you think it looks like a strong lineup but there are still so many questions that need to be answered. Will Franklin suffer with the Hawks carrying so many injuries? Will Hall continue on as Big Barry and not return to being Big Bad Barry? Will Malceski and Waters get back to their best? Will Hille stand up for 22 games?

I guess the only thing we can do is sit back and see what happens.

As for my own lineup:
Backs - Goddard Enright Hodge H.Shaw Harbrow Farmer Maguire Nason Silvagni
Mids - Swan Ablett Mitchell Trengove Martin Barlow Banner Bastinac
Rucks - Sandilands Hille Warnock Lobbe
Forwards - Riewoldt Stevie J ROK Franklin Gray Hall Dangerfield Hitchcock Gumbleton

At 250k, I'm very excited about Robinson this year. He's got a very mature body for a 2nd year player (has bulked up a fair bit over the summer) and is a tackling machine. Enjoying a brilliant preseason to date.

In our best players in all three preseason games he's played, kicking 2 goals in each game which is very promising heading into the season proper. 83 vs Sydney, 79 vs Brisbane and played an excellent second half vs the Crows.

Definitely in out 22 and he's a lock for mine.

Thoughts guys?
In bold are the players you shouldn't have. Goodes you can but in the forwards and Walker you can but in the rucks. Greenwood and Ladson are also vey questionable.

Thoughts on this team

Backs: Goddard, Enright, Gilbert, Hodge, Malceski, Ladson, Waters (Trengove, Silvagni)

Mids: Bartel, Selwood, Scully, Trengove, Martin, Barlow (Banner, Bastinac)

Rucks: Sandilands, Clark (Skipper, McCauley)

Fowards: Riewoldt, Goodes, O'Keefe, Pavlich, Giansiracusa, Gray, Hall (Gumbleton, Dennis-Lane)

Prepared to take a hammering from people on the risk with 4 rookie mids, however up until today I had Wonnaemiri as my 7th foward before he went down yesterday so i've simply downgraded one mid and upgraded Wonnaemiri.

As for my own lineup:
Backs - Goddard Enright Hodge H.Shaw Harbrow Farmer Maguire Nason Silvagni
Mids - Swan Ablett Mitchell Trengove Martin Barlow Banner Bastinac
Rucks - Sandilands Hille Warnock Lobbe
Forwards - Riewoldt Stevie J ROK Franklin Gray Hall Dangerfield Hitchcock Gumbleton

Midfield needs more consistent players. Upgrade Trengrove and downgrade Johnson or Rok. The rest is good but you should know more about Farmer than i do.

Good team, though realistically only 13, maybe 14 keepers depending on how guys like Gray / Hall end up faring. Your trading will have to be spot on and fingers crossed you don't cop too many injury troubles.
