Kouta 99 Prelim was the greatest game I’ve seen a Carlton player play in 45+ years of watching.

Dld it on the biggest stage under the most pressure.

Kouta 2000 PP against Norf.
Started on Carey, went mid, 35 + dips, 5 goals...never seen better

Teague said he met with all the players during the week and asked them what they thought their strengths were. When Crippa was asked, he just replied, "Everything."
Crippa’s a modest bloke. I’m pretty certain he would have said “Nearly everything.”

Congratulations Blue baggers. For those of you that don’t know me I’m the lesser half of BlueBelle - but I’m pretty much a Carlton supporter for 20/21 weeks a year (basically whenever you don’t play us) and today was a really exciting victory.

Coming from six goals to zip down midway through the second was very impressive and so far I’ve been to every game bar one in Melbourne (sadly missed the only win) and I’ve seen some great efforts; I’ve seen some stinkers but today made up for it all.

I told BB before the game that I thought you/we were a good shot today with the whole coach sacking and everything but what really got me excited (yes, excited - I’m probably as parochial and feral as any true bluebagger on game day) was listening to David Teague on SEN saying that they were going to play their forwards deeper and for me that was a huge thing because all year it seems like they weren’t being used to their full potential.

It was a slow start but I liked what they were doing - it was just the execution. When the execution finally started coming off that’s when it all started to click. From that six goal deficit as soon as they kicked the first goal you could sense the shift. That mccluggage goal that gave they kicked deflated me. I said “I don’t even want to watch this anymore” and bluebelle said (as she always does) “if we can get a couple of goals in a row we’re a chance.”

And that’s exactly what happened. I won’t give a play by play of the entire game because I’ll let you guys bask in it but when Gov kicked that goal, when Cripps took that mark and kicked his goal and when the final siren went, you couldn’t win the smile of our faces. Was a terrific day and I enjoyed riding the navy blue wave.

And Crippa is a super star. A gun. An absolute champion. Thoroughly enjoy watching him play. Well done again and Go baggers!!!
