Some weird umpiring this game.

  • refusing to pay HTB no matter how many times Essendon drop it in a tackle, including that absolutely blatant one in our F50
  • not letting us put a man on the mark and then letting the Essendon player run right past it when he was taking his shot
  • that extremely quick review of the touched goal where I'm not sure you could see any fingers bending back
  • two marks OOB paid, one where he looked the better part of a metre out

Darcy is a crucial resigning. He and Jackson make each other better.

Henry finally showing signs of why we are showing faith in him.
Amiss so good. Johnson so good.

22 points isn’t enough, Essendon were shite that quarter and will come out much better so we have to show up big time in the second half to win and keep our season alive.

Really should have played Reidy after the bye, even a not 100 percent sean darcy is seemingly making a big difference.
Yeah. Having Jackson doing damage everywhere and anywhere makes us a lot more dangerous. Need to get Reidy or Noble up to speed as soon as possible.

I get the feeling the umpires are letting a lot go, and often seem unsure of themselves

TBF, he was pretty underwhelming for most of the season so far. Still goes missing too much as far as I'm concerned.
I’ve loved his impact - he gets better roach week as he syncs with the rest of our team. Love how tough he is, and how he’s still tackling hard despite being suspended a few weeks ago.

The letting the ball drop out when tackled has been happening for a while now. The players worked out pretty quickly that the umpires are treating it like the ball has been knocked out
