What was the 50 for when McGovern hit the post at the end? Was it umpire abuse?

Frost had more intercept possessions and contested marks than May did. If you're going to have a go at McGovern, then have a go at Levi as well. McGovern has turned into a whipping boy and that's fine, but singling him out on here (as many do after every game) is a result of either personal bias or poor understanding of the game.At the ground it was clear that Gov was putrid at protecting teammates with the aerial ball. Applied no physical presence on May and continually allowed him a free run to intercept.
That can't happen. May is a big tough guy but it was ridiculous.
McGovern is shocking. He is actually worse than Casboult. It was his chance to stand up today and didn't do anything. Weak as piss. No wonder is was crying at the Grand Final last year - he is just so weak.
Speaks volumes that he left Adelaide for us because he has a weak mentality and couldn't handle the pressure there.
LOB kicked the ball away from the Melbourne defender. What was the 50 for when McGovern hit the post at the end? Was it umpire abuse?
I’m a Plowman fan but that contest in the dying moments when he was sitting underneath the ball and just watched it hit the deck was truly bizarrePlowman was ordinary for a bit of the game but his last qtr was enormous

You realise that we would have lost this by 10 goals under the old coach? Teague got us kicking 100 twice in four weeks, he’s got no Curnow, Mackay and Cunners. Yet builds a makeshift forward line from nothing... a bloke wearing number 9 would make all the difference in the midfield today too.Today raises questions about Teague's ability to do more than coach a forwardline. He is not a great midfield coach and has demonstrated no aptitude to get the team switched on from the first bounce
Not at all , I've seen all his games plus a few vfl games. I'm basing it on that. He was crap last week as well. Anyway fine if u disagree. I dont think he would get games in any other afl side. Maybe suns?So after those 2 great AFL games, this one game renders him lower than VFL level? Exaggeration perhaps?
I understand you're upset, and rightfully so after a tight loss, but this sort of posting is ridiculous. McGovern is not a key forward. He is a 3rd forward who relies on his aerial ability. When we are CONSTANTLY kicking it to his feet all day, what chance does he have? Furthermore, if you watched closely, you would have noticed his strong leads out of the square, which allowed Setterfield and Kennedy space (and resulted in numerous goals).McGovern is shocking. He is actually worse than Casboult. It was his chance to stand up today and didn't do anything. Weak as piss. No wonder is was crying at the Grand Final last year - he is just so weak.

That’s bulls**t, setter was a ******* free on the second grab! It was smack to the face!
Next person who says “don’t blame the umpires” I will hunt down & carve their heart out with a spoon!

when you're sober read what you wrote out loud.......12 of Melbourne's goals were from either free kicks or plays beginning with free kicks.
Carlton has it in our forward line. Umpire pays advantage, nothing there - Melbourne get the ball. Results in a Melbourne goal.
Nathan Jones plays on CLEARLY, turns it over. Umpire called advantage and then brings it back. Result is a Melbourne goal.
Absolute ******* farce.
If the umpires are even remotely legitimate we win today by 8-10 goals.
Worse than the Pies game and Leigh Fisher's antics in our game against the Saints by the length of the Flemington straight.
just youIs it just me or do we get reamed by the umpiring week in week out? I understand that as a poor team we're not necessarily expected to get more or even the same amount of free kicks as our opposition but it seems we get pinged for random s**t all the time while our opponents get away with the same s**t all game long.
We turned up for about one quarter today and that really doesn't win you football games. Jack and Levi looked good today. Mostly everyone else felt like a calamity waiting to happen. It was turnover city. McGovern was a non factor, dropped marks and poor positioning in the contest meant he barely got a sniff all day. Desperately missing our tall marking players. Levi clunked a few but that was about it.
Ahhh to be forward for Carlton..... Wayne Carey would of struggled with our delivery today, most goals we're opportunistic, say for a couple of Casboult hit ups
McGovern has been out of form for weeks now. Prefer to see Kerr in than what McG is dishing up.Ahhh to be forward for Carlton..... Wayne Carey would of struggled with our delivery today, most goals we're opportunistic, say for a couple of Casboult hit ups
99 out 100 players mark that. Really, it was an ordinary contest from Setters who should of just gobbled it up.
To his defence he cracked in that 2nd half but his overall his polish needs work.
Such a dumb sexist thing to say. She's light years better than a lot of other commentators.Underwood is the worst commentator of all.
Dumb with a horrible whining voice.
