Autopsy RD 22 - Exposed by the Crows

Dees made us look better than we are last week. We got lucky with a few goals that bounced right, dees failed to touch.
Had no luck today and nothing from vdm, cody, west. Darcy lost confidence after all those points. Lost naughton. Of course we faced the Crows best side all year. While everyone will say how good the hawks went, the blues lost Charlie and others during the game. Sometimes things just go your way.

We absolutely smashed the Dees last week.

That’s why this result is even more frustrating, we had one of best run in years and we go and **** it up with a beyond awful performance

Was Johnno a goal kicking specialist with any club? (Outside of his playing days)

He has done some coaching at the AFL academy and did a short stint as a specialist coach at Geelong, so probably a little. Don't think they ever defined his role

Bad kicking is bad footy.
But really crows were much the better side today, destroyed our midfield and made the most of Fogarty against buku.

Caleb Daniel looked pretty good whilst he was on though. Definitely stood out.

Richards, libba, Naughton, west, weightman all didn't turn up today

Nothing is more predictable than the Dogs folding up like a cheap deck chair when there’s pressure to perform.

So there was no pressure to perform in the last month? History says we never beat the crows on their deck.

Disappointing performance, but we won our last 4 under huge pressure.

Crows had nothing to lose, and Fogarty had a blinder.

That was Dire! Top 4 has left us in the dust and I can't back us against a newly competitive Roos outfit.

A few thoughts

1.Changes should have been made from the end of the first. Buku needed to get moved much sooner, Fogarty made him look like a wondering child. Naughton was the replacement, he could kick and scream about it but that was what we needed to do.

2. If this team cannot tackle, we cannot win. Our highly contested stoppage style requires it and the crows knew that from the get go making us play individually, instead of that surging pack handball we all know.

3. Everyone was Average today. but we looked worse because of a Roided up Crows outfit playing their granny.

4. Vandermeer is less than shit. Can we as a club remove the grip he has on the selection panel's balls.

5. What is with Adelaide sides and sucking the talent and decision making out of our midfield?

27 shots on goal for 9 goals is something else.

Oh well, onto next week.

What a shitshow.

Ticks every marker for the usual Bulldogs poor performance.

- Not switched on from the get go

- Atrocious goal kicking

- Missed tackles

- Opposition afforded ridiculous amount of space

- Key players having stinkers

- English monstered in the ruck

Really thought we had turned the corner over the past month.

Have we still? Was that just an aberration?

Geez I’m annoyed.

That was so, so bad.

middle of the road side in a weak year. the last 4 weeks were good but most teams we played were out of form.

to dish up that first quarter pressure rating with so much on the line sums it up. Adelaide at home when theyre on are a 5-8 side and they showed us up.
we may sneak in this year but thats about all.
i look forward to the new ways we'll manage to shoot ourselves in the foot in 2025
