As I feared, I had no reception all night at this wedding. Was feeling sick in the guts all night not knowing the score.

Just got it now. You beauty. Couldn't give a shit about the technical stuff right now until I watch the replay.

Just happy to get some premiership points and go to 4-1 over the Plastics.

Sometimes after a bad patch, you sometimes just need to win an ugly one before you can look beautiful again.
Whilst neither team looked like a top 8 side, I'd say it was more competitive then 'ugly'.

The conditions don't help either, of course.

Was really worreid a 2011 style fix was in at stages in that last quarter.
Was waiting for Hunt to pop up and kick a goal on the siren, to be honest.

Thank god we're not Richmond.

That is abysmal, especially for a derby. The Suns surely couldn't have that many fans of significant substance.

Would be interested to hear from someone who attended the game as to their thoughts on how many Lions fans consisted of that figure.

At a guess, maybe 3k - 4k?

Was a stack of Lions behind me in 202 (sorry for not introducing myself patfullfankezz - you walked past me twice but I was yakking away) and a section on the first tier was pretty full of "us". From bus and train observation, two thirds - one third is probably about right. If that's over, might of been 75:25 their way.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but Martin refused to shake Vossy's hand at the end of the match. Poor form I reckon.

I'm genuinely puzzled by this statement.

I thought Ash sucked in the first two games.....but was really good in this game, especially mopping up down back.

Still, better have a look at a replay...............maybe I'm looking through rose colored glasses:confused:

Have to agree that he was composed and hit targets in the first half. Almost gave away a free kick just before half time which could have been costly. Was often composed at half back and played the conditions with confidence. At least he wasn't turning it over when he had the ball (unlike first two Rounds) and did enough when it mattered. I was one that was calling for his demotion last week and expected him to get a run with role tonight but I'm prepared to eat humble pie and say he was serviceable.

Haven't seen the footage outside of that youtube clip, but it looks to me like Voss could have been asking after his ankle. *shrug*

Ash was much better tonight.

I've watched this over and over and I'm not convinced it was an attempt to shake hands. Appears more like Voss was enquiring as to the injury Martin sustained causing him to be subbed off. Voss doesn't look like he's attempting to shake any players hands after this and if you think about it in context, do Coaches really ever go about shaking hands when a pat on the back is probably more in line?.... Just my thoughts.

Sam Mayes' ability to find space and do something with the ball in hand is fantastic. Loved his game tonight.
Other notable mentions would go to:
Redden who weaved in traffic wonderfully to release a handball to a teammate in space.
Rich for getting close to the 30 disposal game, albeit no goals for him.
Rockliff for his forward pressure and great goal in the dying minutes.
Brown for his majestic performance.
Will get to the player reviews tomorrow after I get some sleep. :thumbsu:

Yes. You can see Voss look down and point his hand down to the ground. Weird thing is that Martin wasn't listed as injured.. hopefully it's nothing too serious.

Sam Mayes a good chance for the Rising Star nom. this week! Loved his game.. Browny was right about him. He'll be a superstar one day.

Voss needs to start getting on the phone and demanding answers for poor decision making. Channel 7 are making a spectacle out of our poor decision making now for the past 3 weeks. Every time we stuff up our ball movement the cameras go straight into the coaches box just waiting for Voss to laugh about it.

He was being iced around the ankle so we could read that as possibly a niggle, but with luck no games missed as he did some useful work down forward tonight.

Miffed the AFL are using tonight's attendance figures to support the "no home NAB cup final" decision. Opportunistic IMO and perhaps pointing to a symptom, rather than the disease. Not surprised, just miffed.
