I was about to post that we should strip the side right back, but we already have.

I'm feeling very disillusioned with our club and its position after this game. I feel as if I have underestimated how far behind the competition we actually are.
This is the first time in my lifetime that we have had two highly rated kpfs in our side. One of them is bone lazy, has no second efforts nor does he lead and make contests, the other is played in the ruck and is too body conscious of his opponent. No wonder our midfield has no confidence in kicking to them. Bont shows us what an actual forward presence is.
The rest of the forward line stands around like a stale bottle of piss in far too many set plays and does not work hard enough to get in front of the ball carrier in a quick transition.

Our whole side is slow with the exception of JJ, again why the hell was he our deepest forward option for a number of contests? When he was moved to defence in the last quarter at least he showed some drive out of the defensive half.

Its dawned on me actually how big the task is going to be for Nick Austin and Sam Power, both in their first years in a significant role for an afl club.

Yeah we were bad and got what we deserved. All the same, I was a little under-whelmed by Melbourne. They'll be there or thereabouts in September but not sold yet. I thought Fritsch was very very good for them

Weirdly, I can cope with us being a poor side. I've had decades of it, if you couldn't hack it you'd have walked away years ago.

What I'm struggling with is how boring we are. Really finding it hard to invest in this group of blokes. We lack character, and characters. We lack flair and have practically no instinctive, watchable players (with a certain hip-injury-curtailed exception - but even he isn't a genuinely fascinating player).

We're not just bad - we're dull.
