With or without Dan Jordan playing in our competition in 2014, Brent Tuckey will still be far & away "THE" best forward going around. The bloke is an absolute superstar, I'd "WALK" to Diggers Rest just to watch the man play !!! :thumbsu:
c
Tuckey and then daylight and any thinking otherwise is kidding themselves. Simply the best!

Reckon a bloke named Barry Hall might go pretty close.

Edit: beaten to it

I think otherwise..

Tuckey is a star, but so is Dan Jordan and Barry Hall would go pretty damn close as well.

To make those statements at that level is just plain wrong, it's not even an opinion.

Point

Certainly merrit, but Barry is a part timer and cant be taken seriously playing in a lower ranked side.

Without Barry hall broadford were a below average side.... With Barry hall could compete with anyone... For mine Barry is the most valuable player in the whole comp let alone just forwards

It was the Barry Hall show that attracted the biggest home & away crowd in RDFL history under lights at Romsey Park, a brutal encounter & from start to finish, and the man was even a bigger star with the microphone before & after the game!

Bloke by the name of Barry hall might have him covered

Yes, Barry very very good. But I think Tuckey is just that bit better. Tuckey is more mobile & can play up the ground. I think big Bazza is carrying a little too much bulk these days & is a little bit past that sorta thing. Both are very good overhead...........I think Its bloody fantastic for our comp' though that we can have this sort of debate. :thumbsu:

C'mon friend Barry only two or three years out of AFL, been at least ten years since Tuckey played at West Coast & Leigh Erwin out played him last time they met, no person in the RDFL that could stop Barry! Don't get me wrong as I think Tuckey is a star but not in Barry's class my friend

I think you are doing Leigh Erwin a bit of a disservice me old friend. Erwin is a very very good backman that matches up very well on athletic tall forwards. I am not surprised he did well against Tuckey. And whats more he would probably do very well against big Bazza also, given the chance ! Oh & by the way wasn't Tuckey carrying a bit of a groin injury last time they met ???

I think Dan Jordan, Tuckey and Hall all have strengths the others don't.

If you are bombing on a guys head then Hall is your man because no one can match his strength. Very smart and still picks when to lead extremely well. Tuckey has great hands and the work ethic up the ground. Dan Jordan will be 2nd to none in
The air. No rdfl defender other than potential teammate brett chambers could match his athleticism. Jordan could kick 100 in 10 games in our league if you ask my opinion. Watched him kick 6.6 or something against bacchus last tear and he was being double teamed most of the time. Can't forget blokes like davo either.

Lets just say we are very lucky to have forwards of their calibre in our league.

Why can't he be taken seriously? He dominates the competition the same, he is one individual, he is the best forward in the comp, but OMNI is right, we are fortunate to be blessed with some exceptional forward talents in this competition and we might just see another one or two debut this year.

Some very good points there O.U., but you REALLY lost me when you mentioned Jordan dominating in a game against Bacchus Marsh........Please, the "Marsh" for heavens sake, really ???

So your telling me about Leigh Erwin are you? I wasn't doing Leigh a disservice, I was giving him a rap, he didn't do well on Tuckey, he smashed him! & the bad news for Tuckey is Erwin is back training with the Redback's!

That he did... I just hope Baz plays against the Redbacks because I want to see Leroy take him on.. My favourite player in the comp.

Where did i say dominated. Only time i got to Umpire them last year was against bacchus. Only said kicked 6.6 while being double teamed. He had an average day by his standards. I have umpired him at least 7 or so times and he has truly dominated some of those games including against redan in their prime.
