Had a look at Lancefield today.
Very scrappy game early standard lifted after half time.
A much slimmer Cam white looked very good.
have improved their list from last year but top four beyond them imo

Any other reports from practice matches?
I think you mean top 6

I'd say top 6 is plausible with their best side but will have to be a bit sharper than displayed. Fair few exclusions yesterday including Kent, Dorman and Pitts but we'll have to see.

Cam White hasn't slimmed much but his size and experience will be invaluable regardless.

Barr also looked dangerous in the forward line and will be a tough matchup with some better delivery.

Yeah the Burketts' class and composure would make a big difference to Lancefield's relatively rough midfield. Swindells are both solid players, but there are a lot of solid players around so they'll be less difficult to replace. I think Lancefield has enough up-and-coming/returning to form players to cover their losses this year.

So where do you believe they will Finnish

Practice games this coming weekend? More so where the 18s may have a game too ....

Better start wandering around now cricket is done

Diggers visited Moama yesterday and went down by 7-8 goals.

How many missing? RDFL up against a Murray FL club (standard wise) wouldn't be as great a gap as it once was. Broadford went up to Tonny yesty (same comp), couple of the players at the pub last night said they battled but had a stack out so no idea how that all went.

My estimate is 6th. I think last year they were pretty heavily outclassed list-wise, but they still managed a few very competitive games against some of the stronger sides (though admittedly without managing an upset). Ash's game plan seems solid enough, so I think with a few high-caliber recruits to help execute it they'll be around the mark to challenge for a finals spot. Still no chance for the flag, but expect them to make up a bit of ground.

What's your ladder predictions for 2016 who do you see missing the top six from last year and why

No
Top 6 not beyond them.

My view .....
If they are any chance lance field of making the top six must beat woodend and wallan in away games in first five rounds I believe unless some of the top seven from last year get a large amount of injuries or play very poorly that they are more likely to finish at best seventh to ninth a lot must go right for them no injuries great form and top sides to slide to make top six believe there bottom six are not going to be good enough to cover injuries if they occur
Good luck to them and ash

Have to say the club with the pick of the draw is wallan if they have recruited well and have no injuries and good form could be the improver

There are a lot of ifs and butts when it comes to many clubs that's what makes things interesting but depth is important still can't go past riddles creek and diggers rest when looking to depth it seems romsey Sunbury have lost some depth and important personal coach wise and Snr players but will play good footy

Macedon are always strong in the twos so should have depth but for some reason faulter at finals reckon vulnerable on small grounds and with lots of recruits each year find it hard to gell need to keep these guys around longer also need from a coaching point think outside the box at times can be predictable ..
Broadford rebuilt over past two years have plenty good kids been coached well mixed with loyal locals and returning locals who have tons of ability and great bunch recruits who have stuck fat but like romsey and Sunbury many injuries may test them still a tuff gig being that far down the Hume great job last year tuff draw be interesting challenge for Deano and skip .......
Melton and woodend will improve but still off the mark haven't herd much ...
Rock bank in a lot of trouble five years off hope they get support great bunch of guys down there

I posted my ladder prediction earlier here so won't re-post, but Romsey was the team I predicted to slip out. Rest of the top 6 I think will stay there, though some shuffling will happen. Haven't seen them play yet, so I might be under-informed but I've only heard negative rumors about how they're travelling and after losing their coach as well as some very hard to replace players I don't think they'll have the tools to stay up there. That said, everyone wrote them off last year and they proved us wrong so wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong about this.

Yesssss. Great news to have matty back. Hearing fonua to broady williams back at the burra kaufman and sullivan gone from sunbry to rupo. Bit like musical chairs

If this is the case with Williams other clubs are kidding themselves. He will be the best player competition again & with Diggers other recruits pencil them in

If the fonua u are talking about is Tevita. Would be very surprised if he goes to Broady. Lancefield expect him to play with them but I have been hearing strong rumour going to a club somewhere in the middle of th e two.

Im hearing fonua is a certainty to play at broady and williams broke his finger and is heading back 2 diggers for 1500 a game
