Not sure if this is old news or not but Jack Baker has left Bombers for Gisborne.

Played some solid footy for the Bombers this year. Although if they retain most of the list, they have pretty good coverage down back.

Have heard the same. He's been a fantastic contributor for the Burra, if he is no longer gracing the RDFNL field, he'll no doubt do well in the EDFL.

Williams tried EDFL a few years back but struggled and left mid season. Yes he did get some injury but struggled with the higher standard boys. Can't see him going back to EDFL unless it's a lower division than premier. Yes he has talent but you need to have the full package to be a competitive player in EDFL premier.. Williams is not that player unfortunately..

I disagree, I think Jase is well and truly good enough to compete at that level. He suffered through injury etc during his last stint and has continued to grow as a footballer. But the only way to find out will be after we get the chance to see him perform again at that level.

Anyway knock on the door of Luke Jarrad? He has moved locally I believe after a lengthy SANFL career with Woodville West Torrens.

Think every club in the Melton area would have had a look at Luke, but hard to compete with EDFL $$$ my friend.

Which club is he supposedly going to mate!!

Can't recall off the top of my head just now, just remember he was headed back to the EDFL, might have even been Keilor.

Surely there's some actual footy to discuss, AuckMel how are Wallan looking?

Yea mate, I'd say the club (and Nug) would definitely be looking to improve on 2016 given the recruits being brought in. Have picked up some size and added the class of Davies and Loizou from Craigieburn.

Would like to think top 4 is not unrealistic.

Dean Putt, Sean Hetherington, Jesse Wallin, Marc Young & Nathan Stevens.

Braddy and Corso go out.

Will be surprised if Jason sees Rd1 or atleast end of the 2017 in EDFL. Simply doesn't work hard enough for a higher level and finds the RDFL or similar an equilibrium for his talent and application.

Davies will be a handy pick up and another big bodied mid. I think without being overly critical Wallan needs to be careful not to get caught in the trap of getting too many fringe, mid range types from EDFL Div 1. It has worked well to get them up the ladder but for the next step they will need to make sure they get some players with top end talent. A key back or two would be good for Wallan. A good outside runner would also be great for them. When Stewart isn't playing they tend to lack a bit of run.

Really thought Wallan was close to beating Broadford after Broadford kicked poorly early in last years final. Not that far away really.

Played 10 games, kicked 8 goals, players come and go, All the best to Phil at the Kangaroos, worth a try however not sure this is a great big loss to Rupo from a 2016 performance perspective?

Absolutely agree, Phil didn't have an impact at the Tank last year, mainly through injury I believe, but has certainly showed in the past he is capable of impacting games, especially in Finals series with the Kangaroos. Standing alongside Burgess and Barnes, he is a more than handy pick up for the Roos

As I said in my note, All the best to Phil, however not sure his name will not come up that much in Rupo's plans when the Sharks play the Roos in 2017, I would imagine they will concentrate more on Barnes and Burgess for sure.
BTW, Phil broke his finger from memory, at the risk of sounding harsh that was not that much of a disadvantage to him as he does try and take a lot of chest marks, he is not a great leaping mark above his head.

Agree with that, although I think both Jess and Alex were at the top end of EDFL type of players and will help go to the next level the club wants to attain. No doubt moving forward though, that they'll need to add a bit more.

I do like how they're going about it.

A key back or two would be good for Wallan. A good outside runner would also be great for them. When Stewart isn't playing they tend to lack a bit of run.

They've picked up a youngster of similar age and pace to Stewie and it would be great to see the ball dropped into the paths of these two kids as I think it will add real penetration into the forward line with speed and precision. One more running HB is there, but will most likely play a full season at Calder. I reckon the backline will be ok, but probably is a bit lacking in size.

Really thought Wallan was close to beating Broadford after Broadford kicked poorly early in last years final. Not that far away really.

Agreed. Should (hopefully) be a positive year.

Have heard M Farmer is a huge chance to sign at the kangas with Lobb!! How do you guys think Macedon will go this year?? Where and how will they need to improve enough to get that final win that they just keep losing????

Have heard the same, I think Lobb has already signed according to some earlier in the thread.

The Cats have recruited well again, if they maintain their list from last year, they will absolutely be in the mix. I actually think the Cats will be a grand finalists in 2017 as an early prediction.

The kangas must have plenty of cash, Farmer is asking a big price.
Should be an entertaining match against Romsey if Farmer does end up playing for the kangas
