Good to see Myles off to rochester. a great thing for the young kid... but think its a bit harsh though with him wearing a rochester training top to school to hang it on his lancefield team mates...

Kings Army I'd watch what you say otherwise I might have to get a solicitor to knock on your door.

Anyway back to the RDFL stuff, I said that is what I've been hearing, not what is gospel. Some of the things actually came from the horse's mouth too. While I agree TMac wouldn't be up to senior BFL standard, Bladey would make a good pinch-hit player off the bench. Slugga would also hold his own now. This isn't the BFL of 10 years ago we are talking about. I'd be surprised if Waters chased Serge, but I'm not going to say he didn't. Still, if Sunbury looked at development for a change, they'd be mad not to snap him up, because he'll be a superstar in two years.

Roll the dice hero and send your solicitor - seeing as you have been racking up a huge wage at the free press I am sure Dennis Denuto will put the fear of god in me. Maybe Lancefield can help fund your campaign of terror!!

What you have been hearing is rubbish but you spew it on here to try and pump your tires up. Waters did contact Power - asked for $700 a game and got shown the door. Crazyburn may be the only team to get anywhere near that but if he ends up at Sunbury it would be for less than half of what he thinks he is worth.

Blade a pinch hitter?? He was boardline in the Gissy 2's.

Slugga may hold his own in a higher comp however he has not in the past so the jury is still out.

Nicholls, I dont know much about you, I assume your the reporter, I know a bit about your league though, I can tell you this, Melton South Senior Football Netball CLub have not pursued a player from the RDFL to come and play with them for 09........FACT!
James is a gun in your comp, and was serviceable at Sunbury without being a regular, just remember, when he played in the BFL it was a division 2 VCFL league, it has since come runners up and 3rd in division 1 in the last 3 years. He may be a better player now than then i dont know. But if the gap was closer you may find more ol RDFL clubs would entertain the thought of returning.

You assumed corretly - have a chat to Serge next time he rings - he can fill you in with more. Your battling a real winner.

Have not seen you on here before - just casting an eye over what Sunbury are doing??

massive news out of wallan. dean langborne returns to the club as ass coach and bringing recruits johar (the beast from the middle east) saad, curly (i am huge ) bajric and wally (fitness) rabah ,all have signed and expecting another 3 by the end of the week. sounds like wallan could be the big improvers next year

I doubt serge would sign a player if he thought they wern't up 2 it, he has one of the smartest footy brains going around he wouldn't waste his time or theres.

Bladey would definetly play in the 1s at Sunbury. Petran would be more bordeline, especially if they sign Houlihan again.
Riddel wouln't have been that far off Sunbury this year. There would be have been plenty of Riddel players who would have played seniors at Sunbury this year. Just depends on how much money serge is going to spend to bring in other big names at Sunbury

thought you would know all the player movments going buy all your post but just looks like you are another one of those w***ers who get on and just ant to say something if you arn't 100% sure on what someone is doing then shut the hell up

15 goals Sunbury V Riddell.

So is Climo at Sunbury ? I'm very surprised his old man would allow him to play at a club that would dare to poach talent from the RDFL.

Cool your jets bearsboy. Old man Climas is a former Sunbury Lions player himself. I don't think anyone has a problem with the better RDFL players going to Gisborne and Sunbury, I think we have a problem with people from the BFLs calling our leagues vastly inferior, but then are happy to take our players. Also the fact the RDFL seems to have produce more young stars than the BFLs in the past five years.

Lancefield Football/Netball Club is excited to announce the appointment of Kevin Fitzgerald as senior football coach for season 2009. Kevin has spent the past couple of seasons as a runner for the Box Hill Hawks in the VFL, and brings a great deal of experience and enthusiasm.

We would like to invite anyone interested in being involved with the club, either on field or off, to a meet the coaches BBQ at 6:30pm on Monday 10 November, 2008 at Laurie Green Pavillion (Lancefield Park). Anybody interested in attending or wanting further information feel free to pm me.

Kev's a great fella and will be a great coach of Lancefield. Former Romsey coach who is great with the young fellas and doesn't try and over complicate his footy. No doubt should be able to recruit some good players and develop the talent that is already at Tigerland. :thumbsu:

The BFL is overrated...

I would have thought the players going to the BFL would be the young ones looking to test themselves - Water, Robertson, Climas etc. They still need to be develop to be able to add value.

So it is a FACT that the RDFL has produced more stars that both the Ballarat League and the Bendigo league? You have these facts to back this statment up I would presume. You do realise that the BFL teams supply the Pioneers, Rebals and Cannons?

There may be a small chance that your "facts" are more of a guess as you don't know all the kids that have gone through the under 18 system and then become stars from the 2 BFL's. If this is the case please don't use the word FACT in an attempt to build a stronger case - maybe IMO would be better suited in cases like this. Thanks

Seriously this my dck is bigger than your dck debate is a joke. I mean who gives a stuff. Surely those who play footy at bfl, rdfl, edfl, ammos or any other league do so more for enjoyment than anything else. A good club with good people and obvisouly a hunger for some success is all that really matters isn't it? I was part of a small club in a low standard of footy that won a flag 15 yrs ago and I reckon we enjoyed it every bit as much as Hawthorn enjoyed their afl flag. It may not have meant anything to anyone else outside our club but us it was everything. Is that not what local footy is supposed to be about?
