lol ... toweled by 10 goals from a side sitting 7th and you still think your a chance sitting at 2 and 8 ?

I think id be more likely to win the $90mil this tuesday

Gotta live with the hope Animosity. As I said still a chance at finals although a slim chance.
90 mill does sound good though, might buy a ticket. Oh already got 3.

THEY GOT THE WRONG RANGA!

I see on the RDFL website that Warren Kairns was attributed for kicking eight goals.

No offence to Waz, because he's a terrific bloke, but I doubt he's kicked eight goals in his entire career for the Redbacks, let alone capable of racking up a bag that big in one match.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyy won't be happy. Doesn't he get $100 per goal?

That's the tip according to my BIG source.

Macedon came out on top today, 4 point victors over Lancefield in a cracking contest. Biggest lead all day was about 14 pts I think.
good contest at macedon yesterday, both sides were very hard at it, was good tough hard footy from both sides.
lancefield have a very very good mix of youth and experience this year and will go very deep into the finals

UUUUUUMMMMMMM. Good to see my post got a bit of flack!!!!. The Wallan train took a little steam away this arvo at Boardman Reserve. Ah well, finals are still possible, mathematically anyway. Not being there this arvo, dont know how the game was played.

Hey sprechen. You was pretty quick to jump on me. Wallan still have a chance for final, albeit a slim chance.Prefer to have slim chance than none at all. See Broadford pushed Riddell a little.

Wallan seem to have a number of really good players but look to be more individual players than for the team. In stages they looked great but not a real lot of back slapping or encouragement. I noticed at the last break they were all staring at the ground with no signs of wanting to step up. 7 goals down can put you in that place, but don't most teams want to at least put up a fight and finish off strong. It didn't look that way. They looked very dis interested.
Sorry Swans but unless they can get out of that frame of mind, I would say start planning for next year.

Hey guys the Riddell V Broadford clash must have been a cracker, anyone have some feedback from the game??
Also, people have been Riddell to drop a game before the end of the season and they still keep winning. They may in fact go all the way and equal Kilmore's 01' feat of Premiers/Champions in 09'! What other sides have gone through undefeated in RDFL history?

From memory Riddell were undefeated in the H&A last year, but blemished their record against Diggers in the 2nd semi. Riddell have Macedon, Diggers, Lancefield, Woodend and Romsey as 5 of their next 6 games. If they're still unbeaten then they will probably remain so.

Firstly..... it would not bother Gaaaaaaarrrrrrrryyyyyy in the slightest that his name was not mentioned.

Secondly your BIG source has got the wrong sauce!!!

My round 11 tips

Broadford to beat Woodend in a close encounter. Broadford proved last week that they can play well when they have challenges. Broadford are capable of winning this game.

Wallan to defeat Melton Central also in another close game. Wallan have proved to play games the full 4 quarters.

Sunbury Kangaroos to easily beat Rockbank

Lancefield over Diggers Rest because they would've been disappointed about last weeks result and will look to have a big win against yet another competitive game

Riddell to defeat Macedon just as they are playing at home, and are always hard to beat. Macedon had a hard game last week and will find it hard to back it up again.

Romsey over Kilmore easily, no one can stop Moorcroft at the moment.

Gisborne of 1997 went through undefeated and 1998 they lost 1 game.

Love your football? Tune in to 100.7 Highlands FM LIVE from Lancefield at 1:30pm as the Highlands Sports team cover all the action of the Lancefield vs Diggers Rest game.... the coverage will feature around the grounds in the AFL at regular intervals and include around the ground scores in RDFL matches across the day... where ever you may be listening... 100.7 Highlands FM is your radio coverage for the RDFL... just a cheap plug :D:thumbsu:

Riddell have had a strange but effective season so far. They have seemed to get through some games with ease but others they only just manage to cross the line, the loss of key players have hurt Riddell, but they continue to be the best side. The thing i like about this year is that the competition, without realising, is more even. Riddell in my opinion can go through the season undefeated but they must work hard and back it up every week.

Saw great game of footy at macedon on satdy. Both teams looked the real deal. Macedon had most of footy but lancefield much more efficient up forward. Tim Detman was best on by a mile. The big rig looked very good in first half but then injured his right leg and couldnt run much, irwin also went back onto him and did good job. Waters dominated ruck but kicking around ground was poor. Dorman was pretty quiet most of day but kicked some special goals in last quarter. More injuries to cats though will make it tough versus riddell this week. Blade broke hand in 2nd quarter and will miss a couple and the big rig is also out until romsey game i hear. With fleming, james and wright already out for extended periods the cats have a tough month ahead. The tiges will bounce back aginst diggers this week.

Mid Season Review

At the half way mark of the season, how does everyone see the rest of the competition out side of thier own sides...

Riddell - Leading the way undefeated shows that they are again the yard stick of the competition, but maybe not as far ahead as they might have hoped. The recruits have done well to cover the losses from last year. Whittle has been solid, McCabe is a star, Codd is solid. But it is still the guys from last year that are the keys to the Bomber line up. Meacham is in great form. Belleville is still the midfield key with his skills. Jason Allen the key down back.

Players to stop: Meacham, McCabe, Belleville.
Predicted ladder finish: 1st

Macedon - The Cats are travelling along nicely in 2nd spot, a big win last week against Lancefield was a great way to bounce back from a disappointing loss to an undermanned Diggers Rest. Tim Dettman is in great form, but injuries could affect the remainder of the year. James Wright, James McCarthur, Andrew McCarthur, Ash Fleming all missing over the next few weeks might hurt. Will the McCarthur's be available come finals time?

Players to stop: James McCarthur, Tim Dettman, Ash Fleming.
Predicted ladder position: 3rd

Lancefield - The Tigers come into the second half of the season really starting to gel as a team. Ruffell and Erwin have been great in the first half of the year although Ruffell has been quiet since interleague. The 2 guys that are really the heart beat to the Tigers though are Ben Talbot and Travis Smith. Both are keys to how far the Tigers will go come finals time.

Players to stop: Ben Talbot, Brian Ruffell, John Baker.
Predicted ladder position: 2nd

Diggers Rest - The Burra are travelling beautifully. 7 on the trot and looking more and more likely to be a massive threat come finals time, despite the injuries and players overseas. Brad Sluggett has been in great form on the wing. Shaun Sims has been at his ever reliable best, while Shane Marchewka has been a surprise packet in the ruck. Can the Burra maintain the form of the 2nd tier players as the season progresses?

Players to stop: Shaun Sims, Jeff Heritage, Cole Laurie.
Predicted ladder Position: 5th

Woodend/Hesket - The Hawks are again around the mark and have hit some recent form which has pushed them right into contention. Young James Hepburn has been explosive while recruit Matt Knox is one of the hardest working forwards in the competition. The Hawks have put alot of faith in the youngsters and they are getting better every week.

Players to stop: Matt Knox, Brett Cook, Kar Weng Ng.
Predicted ladder position: 7th

Romsey - Obviously now, when people talk of the Redbacks, they will talk of Moorcroft and Green. But they do go much deeper. Clint Wheatley is always dangerous while Cam Dawson and Steve Burlak are two that must be watched every week. The Redbacks will make finals, but the question is how far can they go?

Players to stop: Steve Burlak, Cam Dawson, Shannon Green.
Predicted ladder position: 4th

Broadford - The other Roos are one of the toughest physical opponents in the competition. Brett Spargo has been one of the keys to Broadford while Michael Edwards and Grant Wearne can be leaders that help to continue to build the list. Probably wont make finals, but will ensure plenty of sides that are in the finals mix have headaches when they have to play them.

Players to stop: Brett Spargo, John Taylor, Tom Butterworth.
Predicted ladder finish: 8th

Kilmore - Losing 2 key players to transfers hurt. But with Guy Booker returning from injury they are a much better side. Like Broadford, they will always be dangerous as Lancefield found out. Hopefully Booker can keep the youngsters from the 18's coming through, the more game time they get the better this side will be from it next year.

Players to stop: Guy Booker, James Duffy, Jason King.
Predicted ladder finish: 9th

Rockbank - The Rams have improved so much and will hopefully continue to do so. The club didn't deserve the bad press they received, especially some of the guys that have busted their proverbial to ensure this group grows. Luke Walker has again proved he is one of the key players in the comp, while Dave Innella is gaining fitness and is tough to stop when up and about. I dont think the Rams will finish bottom, in fact, I dont think the Rams will finish bottom 2.

Players to stop: Luke Walker, Dave Innella, Corey Sayers.
Predicted finish: 10th

Melton Centrals - Losing Fenton in the past 2 weeks has hurt, Wheels out injured for a lengthy period, Centrals will find the going tough. But Greeny is a great coach and they have some really good young kids in the side, Jono O'Brien is very impressive. Kane Bullen is a natural leader. Tim O'Brien is a talented small. There is a lot to like about this list going forward, but may find the remainder of 09 tough.

Players to stop: Josh Armstrong, Brian Wheelahan, Tim O'Brien
Predicted finish: 11th

Wallan - Disappointed with the Magpies last week. But if Fowler and Cornish can be held then the Magpies will find wins hard to come by. Groth looked impressive before injury last week. But if the Magpies find themselves behind they find it hard to get back into the game. Pederson is a very good coach and again, there are some good youngsters at Wallan, the list will develop, but I find it hard to find another win for them.

Players to stop: Dave Cornish, Dave Fowler, Matt Gibson
Predicted finish: 12th.

Wheels from Centrals is out for the rest of the season with a broken leg. Huge blow for them, they'll struggle to win a game from here.

In the past I have copped it when writing about my own side... I agree, the draw will play a role in where sides may or may not finish, I think that any side from 2nd to 7th can make the finals or miss out.. I am confident in my sides form and ability to make this years final series, in fact, I believe that they may even finish as high as 4th.. But just my opinion... :thumbsu:
