I don't see anyone talk a big game. Do we have expectations? Absolutely. Pretty sure in my time at the club they've played multiple finals series, while winning twos and U19.5 flags.

Robbed of a great opportunity for a flag in 21 and not far behind Rupo in the washed out 2020 season.

Rupo demolished Wallan in that 19’ grand final though and had some brilliant signings coming in. Coaching and lack of faith in the second string gave them no chance. Clarke Oval is huge, running midfielders 90% of the game was just ludicrous. Ricky was cooked trying to cover that ground with barely a break, then Rupo had Hetherington & Cannolo etc coming in as second rotations against tiring Ricky & co, game was won before it started. Same Rupo side with a 6’7 lightning quick premier level key forward, don’t think Wallan were winning 2020. Rupo back to back was what got washed out.

Don't remember much about that game, sorry. I know we had a few blokes who gave it everything and others who struggled on a ground many of them had never played on.

As for 2020, well that's like predicting if you'd win a comp in another league.

As mentioned in the case of Wallan getting stars mid season it’s a true miracle they had spare cap money for Darby to come in. Great accounting I guess or creative.

Darby from what i know is a Riddell junior so wouldn't expect he would command the same money as say Carslile at Wallan.

Riddell did have a very talented list i dont think anyone would disagree with that.
But sometimes coaching is not just about game day but getting talented footballers to all work together, which can be a tough ask.
Once the work has been done mid week the players should have control and trust of the coach to get the job done on match day.

Riddell are just a very well run club who have a successful history and the township behind them.
