I shaved my beard down to a dodgy mo a couple weeks back, safe in the knowledge the general public would not be exposed to such a horror lurking beneath my mask.

Full beard back now, all good.
I’ve noticed a few people do that and I have giggled a bit when they pull their masks down. Some blokes have great beard growth and look so bloody stupid when they go with the mo

I was raised in a church/church school that believed and pushed this stuff, not dragons but things like mentions of Leviathans in the Bible and the descriptions matching Plesiosaurus.

It's kind of interesting cuz I fully believed this stuff and read all of the apologetics and had all of the arguments and due to a cloistered upbringing it wasn't until uni that I really had my faith tested and I lost my religion over time.

You can have these really semantic and in-depth dialectics with otherwise smart people about topics where the entry point necessitates a belief in an interventionalist God, a young earth or other prima facie absurd beliefs.

Was pretty humbling at the time and why I have a bit more empathy for people who believe crazy stuff.

So my youngest daughter has covid along with her boyfriend she’s a fortnight away from moving in with

She’s already moved out of home so no need for me to isolate so I’m good

Kinda weird how commonplace it seems now when only a month or two ago we were stressing about 5 cases a day and the media were reporting breathlessly about who tested positive and where they’d been

I've gone out a few saturdays since cases skyrockets and I'm surprised I never got it. One place I went to a few eeks back was like covid didn't exist

Or that poor security guard who got it in the hotel Feb last year. There was panic stations and a mini lockdown and he got hounded for going to so many places and even had the media camped out the front of his apartment block he lived in.
