Was listening to skynard and bit of Allman brothers a couple nights ago and The Outlaws popped up. I'm assuming they had success in the day but kinda surprised we it's taken this long to come across em

The first episode of The Last of Us was good, worth a watch

Amazing how a story that's been done to death (pandemic/zombie like infection) can still be great if it's got a good production budget - AKA HBO.

Before all the nerds come in (Dark Sharks) yes I know this story is more about the relationships than the pandemic. Despite not being a neck-bearded virgin I have played both the games and know what the big twist coming is and still can't wait for the next episode.

I've never played it, but I've seen stuff written about how good it is for years. Good to have a decent zombie show after The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead both went to s**t.
So no spoilers THE A5

They nailed it. Everything was fantastic and the extra depth added to the TV show while respecting the original content was sensational

Will be a highly entertaining watch, I cannot wait for next week

I'll watch it tonight as tomorrow is my shift change (meaning I actually get time!!!) so no spoilers, but I have also played both games and I forget that not everyone HAS played the games or know the story.

I suspect I know which twist you're talking about without yet having seen it.

I'm still not sold on one change I read about, which has to do with how the particular outbreak spreads. I get why, but its a core element of the story!!

You'll get zero spoilers from me I can assure you!

Free Bird
Simple Man
Tuesday's gone

If you mention the abomination that is sweet home alabama I have a very special set of skills........ I will consider whether or not it is more painful to tear your fingernails out or we can go down the path of bamboo underneath the nails.

I will die on the hill that it is an abomination of a song and will be carried back dead to the shoulders of filipinas to whore island if need be.

Sweet Home Alabama’s not their best but it’s alright.
But it inspired that Kid Rock song which is an instant classic.

That Kid Rock song is amazing. It mashes up Sweet Home Alabama with Werewolves of London, so he simultaneously managed to get Warren Zevon and the members of Skynyrd to collectively roll in their graves.

He's basically a modern day musical genius.

2001 - I understand it's a classic, found it way too slow and boring for my liking
Interstellar - already mentioned as a rival
Martian - almost forgot about it, throw it in
T1 - not as good as T2 imo
T2 - best action movie of all time too - agreed
Jurassic Park - agreed, a genre standard
Moon - thoughtful and well acted, throw it in as competition too
Matrix - agreed, in fact possibly best sci fi of all time for what it wanted to do and how well it achieved it, also spawned a lot of derivatives
Alien - already mentioned as a rival
Arrival - already mentioned as a rival (pun intended)
Eternal Sunshine - not really a sci fi, more a character and relationship study, but I rank it as a top 10 of all time (imo, fight me)
Terminator movies was interesting.

T 1 was good for 1980s standard.

T 2 as you said is one of the best action movies of all time.

T 3 Rise of the Machines. A let down in my opinion.

Terminator Salvation: I personally enjoyed as it was watchable and better than Terminator 3.

Watched Terminator genesis... Meh and I am not gonna watch dark fate.

As for the Alien movies.

Alien: like Terminator 1. More of a thriller than horror.

Aliens: like Terminator 2 action packed and good.

Alien 3. It was solid but realistic. A ship full of prisoner/ inmates hunted down by a Xenomorph alien with no Guns.

Alien resurrection: watchable but not bad.

Some of my favourite sci fi classics not mentioned

Starship Troopers
Robocop
Back to the future
Predator
Wrath of Khan
As for the movies you listed....

Startship Troopers. 1st one was good. Had a crush on Denise Richards back in the day.

RoboCop: 1st 2 were good. 3rd one was ok.

Back to the future. 1st one was good. 2nd was my favourite and 3rd was good too.

Predator movies....

Predator (1987) : was very good. A bunch of us marine troops picked off one by one by an Alien with superior technological weapons and stealth.

Predator 2 (1990). Unique part of it is Los Angeles is like New York: a massive concrete jungle.

Predators (2011) : a sleeper hit from 2010 or 2011. 1st Predator movie has a bunch of us marines.

This one has various people: a US marine, an Israeli soldier, a Russian spesnaz troop, a Death squad members from Sierra Leone, a Japanese Yakuza member and a Mexican cartel member. All are deadly with various weapons and slowly picked off one by one.

A solid movie. One I would love to see another sequel.

Predators in 2018: meh

Prey (2022): saw a trailer of this on YouTube. Looks good
