El Nino doesn't do much for Perth, Indian Ocean Dipole is where it's at.

Yeah El Nino is not a big deal in WA, a wetter winter in WA compared to the rest of Australia is not an indictment on climate science or meteorology.

Even the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) doesn't have a huge influence on South Western WA. The Southern Annular Mode is the main driver for South West WA's winter weather.

It was a reasonably mild Summer, which is not entirely a bad thing. Don't think it cracked 40° which is rare. Didn't have many of those days where it was basically mandatory to hit the beach because of the heat.

Summer was mild but our summers usually don’t just last the three months really. We tend to have 4.5-5months of summerish weather. Last year it didn’t really heat up till a week for dec and we started gettinga bit of cold weather even in March

Is there some sort of consumer protection for purchasing something which is then discounted shortly after? Or is that just up to each individual business/retailer?

In this case deposit paid, item put into production, don't even take delivery of it for another couple of months.

Whinge enough and loud enough online and it's a big company and they'll probably refund the difference.

I'd just ask them, I have before and been successful with it and they have refunded the difference. Means I'll always go back to them too if they take care of me.

Have asked, got the flat bat response but then suggested that with the value of the purchase, our choice to shop with them for the first time yada yada.... They're looking into it.

It's not stupid money and we bought it on sale anyway, but they said they couldn't drop the price any further and then it went on further sale within a week or two. Still happy with the purchase and excited to get it delivered but I'd also like the extra coin in my pocket instead of theirs
