I felt that the JDM fight was never in doubt, Hafez won the first but other than lie on top of Jack for the second round he did sweet * all after the first. Dunno what the * DC and the other commentator were crapping on about.

That's how I would have scored it, Hafez was catching his breath, not advancing the fight, but I don't trust UFC judges one bit. And we've seen how some judges rate ground control, like when Volk was getting back packed in Perth with no damage being done.

JDM should get on the Sydney card and I expect he will have a lot more energy doing a single weight cut rather than two cuts while also planning for 3 different opponents over the fortnight

Well put.

Any Commonwealth Games fans out there?
It is weird how the allure of hosting major events like Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Cup etc.. has become less and less over the years. More and more people just starting to realise its not worth the hassle and cost.

Politically, is this a win or loss for Dan Andrews? It's certainly a bold move.

Did some reading, host city was meant to be picked in 2019, then 2020, covid hit so it was finally picked in 2021. So if some other city does take it on, they'll be at least two years behind schedule, but more like four.

Just get Birmingham to host it again maybe? They would have all the infrastructure in place from 2022

I think its a good move. Bit of fiscal responsibility in the face of political embarrassment.
Big Dan just doesnt GAF anymore- he does what he thinks is best and wears the flak. Don't think there is anything the oppo can throw at him now that would be as bad as what he copped during Covid.

Maybe I’m older and don’t really care for them like I did as a kid but it feels like less people seem to care for the Olympics and Comm games

I've never liked either, just not my type of thing. I understand the drive of the competitors but myself find it very boring from a spectator's perspective.

Each to their own I guess.

It's all the non mainstream sports. For the mainstream sports that are included, it's not the pinnacle event.

Yeah it’s just the national pride that keeps you interested but yeah most of the sports are so boring

You have clearly never sat through an entire dressage competition, played on repeat by Ch7 between 9am and 3pm.
Worth blowing off a week of work for.
