At the risk of telling you something you may already know; I had a prolapsed a disc in my lower back in my mid-20s. I got over it by losing weight slowly and concentrating on flexibility and swimming. So some yoga, easy walks on soft surfaces and swimming laps followed by a sauna/spa. Clean living helped out a fair bit too.

But yeah, sure you've heard a lot of it before, but just slow and steady may do the trick.
Yeah i’ve eased up this week and doing of stretching and yoga like exercises I’ve seen from the internet.
I found squats and deadlifts (with correct form) have alleviated a lot of lower back pain for me.
Haven’t gone the gym yet as I was building up to it. Personally bit worried about gym cause they found something on my spine (unrelated and not serious if not aggravated) and was warned about lifting heavy stuff

Stretching is good and an important part of looking after your body but lack of strength is what causes a lot of those ongoing aches and pains. Especially weakness on the posterior side (back, glutes, hams).

Jobs where you sit most of the day are ****ed for your body.
Yep, under activated glutes have got to be one of the biggest causes for pain or so my physio mate tells me. Biggest muscle in your body but a lot of us mostly just use it to sit on for 8 hours a day at a desk.

Yep. Hence my comment on deadlifts and squats. It's been a revelation for me personally.

Will never deadlift again.

2019 I ended up in hospital after a bad deadlift, last rep on last set.

Can't even think about a dead - and I have had my physio and a PT teach me properly and guide me through. No thanks.

I've heard it feels a bit like a punch to the balls. Is that true?

Your sack swells and aches, so yes it is somewhat similar but with a slight touch of sharp pain if you move too quickly.
