Day #1 of holidays today, which is also fake Xmas eve day given we are doing a Saturday celebration this year (and then again on the 25th).

So you know what that means, it's MF ham glazing day, homies!

The Supreme Court will overturn it IMO

Probably, that country is devolving at a rapid rate with the political divide getting bigger and bigger being fueled by the cult of Trump

I’m not one for wanting politics in this thread but that Colorado decision sets a dangerous precedent

Whatever your views on Trump and the extent of his involvement in the January 6 riot at the White House, he’s not formally been convicted of insurrection. To rule him out of running on the basis that he has is an overreach

Among the many problems the US has is that the judiciary is increasingly partisan and not afraid to make political decisions in their judgments. On both sides

Country is a mess with two diametrically opposed forces pulling them in opposite directions all controlled by corporate money who don’t give any ****s who’s gonna n power so long as they’re making money

$The End$

Yeah, one of the many many advantages our system has over them.

No one knows which judges were appointed by which governments. The legal community basically nominates the best candidates and they’re appointed.

It helps that there’s a mandated retirement age so there’s a fairly steady turnover. You don’t get 90 year old judges sitting there in adult diapers desperately clinging to the seat because if they retire (or fall off the perch) the wrong party will be able to appoint their replacement and swing the balance.

One of my favourite pre-mandatory retirement stories of the High Court is when a particularly elderly judge who refused to retire despite falling asleep in hearings broke a hip trying to swat a fly, the chief justice forced him to retire by refusing to install a ramp for him.

It’s all two sides of the same coin

Dont think so. Reckon it will be upheld and once it happens other states will ban him on the ballot too.

Interestingly it was the state Republican party in Colorado who brought the issue up in the first place. Reckon they know the party will die if they carry Trump to the 2024 election. Hopefully he misses out on the Republican nomination and then cops prison time for his charges.

This post is too optimistic for my liking.

I for one welcome our Trump 2024 overlord .
