So let me get this right.
Dangerfield's dad, an ex school principal is paid a minimal amount of money to help assess potential draftees character. Something he is well qualified to do.
It is checked and signed off on by the AFL.
It is done in advance of and separate from Dangerfield's current contract status and negotiations.
Um this is a story how exactly?
Oh wait, that's right, another chance to throw the whole 'Dangerfield is yet to sign' story out there. No wonder I stopped reading the Advertiser several years ago.
Here is a tip for a happy life folks - stop watching the news and stop reading the paper. It will make you a much happier person guaranteed.

Exactly. Then you take into account that a lot of players are on 2-year deals, not 3. There are also quite a few players on 1-year deals - Adelaide does it with players aged 30+ and those (like Martin) who are pretty much dead men walking. Given those contexts, 18 is probably about par for the course.

Wish everyone would just stand by our player and not buy into every rumour or speculation article. The fishbowl definitely doesn't aid us in retaining our star players.

what if the adelaide oval deal isn't as great as they would want us to believe?
A big player announcement would be ideal to turn attention away from people giving the deal full analysis and uncovering the truth behind that the clubs tell us on the surface!

The fact that they did not know this, despite it not exactly being an industry secret, and now finding out and making a massive article about it....really shows how little they know about the whole situation.
The media are DESPERATE for answers. They want it now. Sell more papers etc, but nothing is forthcoming so they are drawing some long bows knowing they won't be accountable for anything if they are wrong because they only people who moderate journalism are journalists themselves.
