Ha. He economy rate is like 2.5. Hardly all over the place.
I didn't say he got spanked.. I said he bowled all over the place. No consistent line or length to it. Hard to take wickets when you do that.

Good news. Ricky Ponting will be playing for Tasmania on the weekend, so that should help us. :p

And for anyone that cares, SA are playing a Futures League match at the moment. Few things of note maybe for our next Shield game...

- Daniel Harris is playing for some reason, but finished with scores of 9 and 0.
- Cam Borgas returned from injury, with scores of 34 and 0.
- Richardson scored 42 with the bat, but didn't bowl.
- James Smith scored 158 batting in the middle order.
- Cullen Bailey picked up 3 wickets.

With the final on Saturday, I'm hoping is not of those days as such: if we bat first, post just 150 or so, if we bowl first, Tasmania score 300 plus. If that happens, that will just prove that the Redbacks (and perhaps ALL of our sporting teams) have a very weak mentality.

Good luck boys, not expecting a win though.

Redbacks have named their squad for the Shield game tomorrow, and there will be some happy posters...

In: Theo Doropoulos, Tim Davey, Mick Delaney, Nathan Lyon, Gary Putland
Out: Callum Ferguson (inj), Chadd Sayers (inj), Carl Tietjens (inj), Adam Crosthwaite (dropped), Aaron O'Brien (?)

Looks good to me. Theo and Davey will both be making their debuts, and I'd love to see Delaney finally get a chance but he'll be competing with Mennie for that final spot.

James Smith
Tom Stray
Michael Klinger
Tom Cooper
Travis Head
Theo Doropoulos
Tim Davey
Gary Putland
Nathan Lyon
Joe Mennie/Mick Delaney
Peter George

It's a side strain for Sayers.

We are 1/76 at the moment. Klinger moved up to open with Stray, with Head coming in at #3. Smith moving to the middle order. Good to see them giving the kids a chance, hopefully this is the day for Stray and Head.

Delaney is the 12th man unfortunately.

Got a little ugly after that

Well, yeah...

One of our biggest problems is that our bowlers can not bat at all - all four could lay claim to being the #11. And the next bowler on the block is Mick Delaney, so no help there.

Obviously it shouldn't matter, because our top 7 shouldn't lay down as easily as they have been. But when you look at our opposition, the bowlers always manage to stick around for an extra 50-100 runs. It's been the difference in so many matches.

Dear SA,

get yourself about 5 new, decent batsmen for next season, including an overseas player, because jesus christ

- Everyone in the world

(you're already trying to get Maddinson and Smith from NSW but considering most teams will also be looking to add 1-2 decent batsmen you'll have to look overseas and there is nothing wrong with that goddamnit)
